To celebrate its 30th anniversary season, The Heart of  America Shakespeare Festival will once again produce a live performance this summer.  

What happens when you give a dragon a taco with spicy jalapeno sauce? This sounds like the beginning of a bad joke, but instead, it is the marvelous DRAGONS LOVE TACOS now playing at the Coterie Theatre at Crown Center through August 8. This adaption from the New York Times #1bestselling phenomenon, “Dragons Love Tacos” by Adam Rubin, comes to life under the canopy at the Entertainment Pavilion in Crown Center Square.

Kansas City's Community Theater, The Barn Players, played to a packed house at their annual Barney Awards celebration, Saturday evening, January 25th at their Arts Asylum stage. This free yearly gathering celebrates both the volunteerism and artistic achievements of those who contribute to the Barn's ongoing success.

Adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens from the acclaimed novel by Mark Haddon, THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME delves into the extraordinary brain of maladjusted teenager Christopher Boone. When he finds himself suspected of brutally killing his neighbor's dog he becomes obsessed with ferreting out the mystery himself. Soon his detective work takes him on a thrilling journey that will upend his socially challenged world. Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Play, Ben Brantley of the New York Times said of the show, 'this is one of the most fully immersive works ever to wallop Broadway. So be prepared to have all your emotional and sensory buttons pushed, including a few you may have not known existed." 

Executive and Artistic Director Keith Gerth and Associate Artistic Director Stephen Smith announce Oil Lamp Theater's 2018 holiday show, It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry. This special presentation, directed by Keith Gerth, will be performed from November 29 through December 30, 2018 - with extra Saturday matinees and Sunday evening performances added -- at 1723 Glenview Road, Glenview.
