Due to overwhelming demand, Universal Pictures announced today that it will release a special sing-along edition of its worldwide smash hit movie musical Mamma Mia! in selected theaters nationwide, starting Friday, August 29, for a limited time.
This week Mamma Mia! The Movie continued to prove its strength at the box office, coming in at number seven. The film grossed $6.5 million at the week's end bringing its total net gross up to $116 million.
In its second week in theaters Mamma Mia! the movie took in $17,865,000 at the box office. So far the movie has brought in $62,714,000. Its worldwide gross is currently $135,314,000.
MAMMA MIA! held its US premiere last night in New York City. Meryl Streep leads an all-star cast in the feature-film adaptation of the beloved musical. The feature film adaptation of the global stage hit production brings the magic of ABBA's music to the silver screen.
