Written by Ra?l Castillo and directed by Felix Solis, KNIVES AND OTHER SHARP OBJECTS will begin performances on Friday, March 27 and run through Sunday, April 19 with an official press opening on Sunday, April 12. Tickets are $10 for all performances and are on-sale now.

Developed by TUTS, the Tommy Tune Awards honor musical theatre excellence at the high school level. After reviewing and evaluating the 45 participating Houston-area high school productions during the 2008-2009 school year, a team of 29 Houston-based theatre professionals made 152 nominations in 15 categories.

In celebration of the 400th anniversary of the year Galileo first turned his telescope upward and changed the way human beings thought of their place in the cosmos, Catalyst Collaborative @ MIT and Underground Railway Theater present Bertolt Brecht's The Life of Galileo! Playing Friday, April 10 through Sunday, May 17 at Central Square Theater, this production of The Life of Galileo, Brecht's widely acclaimed masterpiece of science theater, is translated by David Hare, directed by David Wheeler, and stars Boston area favorite Richard McElvain in the title role. Press night is set for Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 PM.

With daily articles on the war raging in the Congo and America electing it?s first African American President, New York City youth from Youth Onstage! are mounting an epic production about the 1960?s Congolese Independence leader Patrice Lumumba called A Season in the Congo written by the late Martinician poet and political leader Aim? C?saire. For five weekends only ? from March 6 through April 5 at the All Stars Project?s performing arts and development center at 543 West 42nd Street. The young performers hope the production will draw attention to the dire situation in central Africa. After each performance they will be raising funds for War Child, an organization working with children and young people around the world who have been impacted on by the trauma of war.
