Gettysburg Community Theatre (GCT) the not-for-profit 501c3 community theatre located at 49 York Street in downtown Gettysburg, is ready for the holidays and is hosting a Holiday 'Pop-Up Boutique fundraiser on Friday, December 1st from 5:30-8:00pm to coincide with downtown Gettysburg's First Friday events. For this one evening, GCT will turn into a temporary retail outlet hosting Styled by Amber Stella & Dot Boutique featuring modern jewelry and accessories; comfortable dresses, leggings, and stylish tops from LuLaRoe; meal kits, spices, and mixes from Tastefully Simple; candles, scents, and home d cor from Partylite Candles, and home-made crocheted hats, scarves, and accessories from Green Cat Crochet, as well as GCT gift certificates for tuition, tickets, concessions/gifts. A portion of all sales from this event will be donated back to Gettysburg Community Theatre. Free refreshments including cookies and hot apple cider will be served. A free family-friendly Improv show will follow the event at 8:00pm at GCT.

Beginning at 11:30 a.m., guests will be treated to holiday arts and crafts, strolling carolers, face-painting, photo booth, cupcake decorating, holiday-themed treats and libations, photos with Santa Claus, as well as special performances by cast members from A.C.T.'s celebrated production of A Christmas Carol and students from A.C.T.'s Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Program and Young Conservatory (YC). Those who have purchased VIP event packages with tickets to the 2 p.m. performance of A Christmas Carol will be escorted from Macy's to The Geary Theater by a group of roaming carolers beginning at 1:30 p.m. A Dickens of a Holiday is free and open to the public.

This year's production is Elf the musical performing weekends November 10-19, 2017 and it is almost entirely sold out. The production stars 50 children with and without special needs/disabilities from 10 different school districts performing on stage together. GCT will present their annual Christmas Cabaret on Friday, November 24th with a reception beginning at 7pm and concert starting at 7:30pm. Directed by GCT faculty member and local favorite private voice/piano instructor, Mrs. Carrie Conklin Trax will again direct this year's Christmas Cabaret, Home For The Holidays, featuring students, alumni, and friends. On December 1st for Gettysburg's First Friday, visit GCT to shop at our Holiday Pop Up Boutique with vendors for great holiday shopping 5-8pm and stay for the free Improv Show at 8pm.
