Two Area Theaters Work Together To Support WRAL's Coats For The Children ImageSince 1989, WRAL has collected 158,000+ coats and raised nearly $2 million to provide winter clothing for Salvation Army families. This holiday season, Raleigh Little Theatre and Theatre In The Park are proud to announce their support of WRAL's Coats for the Children campaign.

As two of the leading area theatres for family, holiday entertainment each will donate a portion of ticket sales from the opening night performance of Cinderella and A Christmas Carol To the annual Coats for the Children event.

"Both productions are holiday traditions for families. While the performances create warm, happy memories for the attendees, they'll also provide warmth and hope for local families in need. What a perfect partnership! WRAL and the Salvation Army thank both theatres for their support this holiday season," says Phyllis Parish, Director of Local Production for WRAL-TV.

Raleigh Little Theatre will donate $10 from every ticket sold on opening night of Cinderella on Friday, December 1st. Cinderella runs from December 1-17 at RLT's Sutton Theatre, located near downtown Raleigh.

"We love this partnership with WRAL and the Salvation Army because it directly addresses a major need in our community. Theater is about people coming together, whether it's the actors and crew putting on a show, or the audience helping their neighbors," says Charles Phaneuf, Raleigh Little Theatre's Executive Director.

"The Triangle community has given so much to us over the past 43 years and we are so happy to be able to give back." Says Brent Simpson, Theatre In The Park's Managing Director. Theatre In The Park will donate $5 from each ticket sold from the December 6th performance at The Duke Energy Center in Raleigh. A Christmas Carol runs December 6-10 in Raleigh and December 14-17 at DPAC in Durham.
