The London premiere of Birmingham Royal Ballet's brand new production of Don Quixote is coming to Sadler's Wells next month following a critically acclaimed UK tour.

At Sadler’s Wells we have an ambitious mission: ‘make and share dance that inspires us all.’ Core to our work on Sadler’s Wells Digital Stage is thinking a lot about the ‘us all’ bit of this mission. How can we best use this space to genuinely provide access to world-class dance experience to us all?  

There’s a particular anticipation for this new triple bill from Birmingham Royal Ballet. In a programme that feels like the start of a new chapter, after being first trailed in Autumn of 2019, Artistic Director Carlos Acosta finally has the opportunity to share his Curated ... works to a London audience. It’s an evening that feels distinctly current and contemporary but with the added star power of Acosta himself taking to the stage once more for a fleeting pas de deux with guest ballerina, Alessandra Ferri. 

 Curated by Carlos will be available as a digital screening, for audiences around the world to watch wherever they may be. This creates access for a global audience to witness the triple bill which includes the world premiere at Sadler's Wells Theatre of a new pas de deux created especially for Carlos Acosta and Alessandra Ferri by Chacona choreographer Goyo Montero.

The Company will be running four different streams throughout the day for audiences worldwide in Australia, Japan, the UK and the Americas. Highlights will include streamed performances of Burning Building, a dance film by Javier De Frutos, featuring Company dancers Sofia Liñares and Shuailun Wu, and Freefall Dance Company's Stepping Up, Stepping Out.

Bodhi Tree Concerts celebrates the holidays by bringing back its award-winning special holiday performance, All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, to the Veterans Museum at Balboa Park and the Village Church in Rancho Santa Fe.
