Jim Dale--one of the world's great stage entertainers: singer, dancer, comedian, Shakespearean actor and raconteur--will be honored with the Second Annual Jewel Box Award at Workshop Theater Company's second unGala on October 19 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at 353WEST, 353 West 46th Street, NYC. Mr. Dale will celebrate his 50 years as an entertainer and will even take stage for a short performance.

The New York International Fringe Festival is pleased to present ELEPHANTS AND OTHER WORLDLY DILEMMAS, a new comedy written by Dina Laura, directed by Peter Zachari and starring Dina Laura, John Olson and Matt Stapleton, at the 19th annual New York International Fringe Festival. Performances run Saturday, August 15 @ 4:30 pm, Thursday, August 20 @ 8:45 pm, Saturday, August 22 @ noon, Wednesday, August 26 @ 7 pm and Saturday, August 29 @ 7 pm at The Steve & Marie Sgouros Theatre, located at 115 MacDougal Street, 3rd floor (West 3rd and Bleecker; subways: 1 to Christopher Street or A, B, C, D, E, F, M to West 4th Street). Producers Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, and Jam Theatricals just announced that Tony nominee JESSICA HECHT (A View From the Bridge, “Breaking Bad,” The Last Night of Ballyhoo) and ADAM KANTOR (The Last Five Years, Next to Normal, Rent) will join the cast of Fiddler on the Roof. Hecht will play the role of Golde and Kantor will play the role of Motel. Further casting will be announced soon.
SAN ANDREAS Earns Over $300 Million at Global Box Office

New Line Cinema, Village Roadshow Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures' action thriller 'San Andreas,' starring Dwayne Johnson, is making a major impact in the global theatrical marketplace, registering a box office total of more than $300 million worldwide as of Monday, June 8, only its 10th day in release. The announcement was made by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

If you're the kind of person who never tires of watching the Hollywood sign crumble and major American cities flood, go see SAN ANDREAS. For all of it's flaws, it's a solid disaster movie, and the special effects deserve to be seen on the big screen. But it's not one you'll find yourself re-watching on a lazy Sunday.
