New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players will return to New York for its 47th season, and its first full production since January 2020, with one of Gilbert & Sullivan’s most famed works, The Pirates of Penzance.

National Asian Artists Project's Rediscover Series presented Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella- In Concert, starring Ali Ewoldt (Phantom of the Opera) and Josh Dela Cruz (Aladdin, 'Blues Clues And You') as Ella and Prince Topher, on March 2 at The Alvin Ailey Citicorp Theater.

Ali Ewoldt (Phantom of the Opera) and Josh Dela Cruz (Blue's Clues & You, Aladdin) will star as Ella and Topher in the National Asian Artists Project (NAAP) presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella- In Concert, as part of its 'Rediscover Series' which explores classic American musicals, with professional artists of Asian descent, proving that great works of theater speak to all communities. The one night only event will take place on Monday, March 2 at 8PM at The Alvin Ailey Citicorp Theater (405 West 55th Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues). Scroll down for rehearsal photos.

With quick-witted and clever lyrics that satirize society, you can easily see the influence G&S's works like The Mikado had on the works of American musical theater composers Rodgers and Hart, Stephen Sondheim, and Harnick and Bock. Since its founding in 1974, the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players (NYGASP) has presented more than 2,000 performances of the Gilbert & Sullivan masterpieces throughout the United States, Canada and England, captivating audiences of all ages. America's preeminent Gilbert & Sullivan Repertory Ensemble, continues its 45th season with its novel production of The Mikado, one of the most enduring musicals in theatrical history.

Bringing their fall programming to a close with a finish worthy of the big top, producers Circle in the Square Theatre School (Paul Libin, President; Susan Frankel, COO), Pigasus Institute, and Rachel Shuey present The Circle Series staged reading of Barnum's Bird: A Musical Extravaganza! The Story of P.T. Barnum and Jenny Lind.

The development of the musical version of CHERI, with book/lyrics by Teri Hansen and music by Chabrier, Chopin, Debussy, de Falla, Duparc, Ravel, and Satie, directed by Dontee Kiehn (Associate Director: An American In Paris), musical direction by Andy Einhorn (Carousel), and choreography by Parker Esse (Helen Hayes Award 2018,2019), continues with a weeklong private industry reading in Manhattan August 5-12.

Musicals at Richter (MAR), celebrating its 34th season as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, kicks off the summer with 'Legally Blonde,' the effervescent and wildly upbeat musical based on the popular 2001 film comedy starring Reese Witherspoon. Staged on the grounds of the Richter Arts Center in Danbury, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings at 8:00 p.m., with additional specially discounted performances on Thursday, July 5 and 12. There is no show on Friday, July 13.
