Premera Blue Cross Broadway at The Paramount will present PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL to Seattle's Paramount Theatre from June 7 through June 12.

 Broadway in Hollywood has announced that PRETTY WOMAN: The Musical, set in 1980s Hollywood, will celebrate its Los Angeles Premiere in Hollywood at the Dolby Theatre from June 15 to July 3, 2022.

PRETTY WOMAN tells the story of Vivian Ward and Edward Lewis. Vivian is a Hollywood prostitute, and Edward hires her to be his companion for business and social functions for a week. Business services unexpectedly evolve into so much more.

Bryan is currently touring UK arenas in support of So Happy It Hurts. Tomorrow (May 17th) he plays Manchester’s AO Arena, which is followed by a further five shows including London’s O2 Arena on May 26th. He will also be performing at a number of summer festivals and outdoor shows in July. Check out the full list of tour dates now!

I had the opportunity to see PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL, during its visit to The Bushnell in Hartford. Based on one of Hollywood’s most beloved 1990’s movies that launched America’s sweetheart, Julia Roberts, into stardom. Fans of the movie will be happy to see that the story hasn’t dramatically changed and includes all the fun, quotable lines (like, “Big Mistake. Huge!”) and unforgettable moments, like the spicy piano scene.

Read our critic's review: When the film “Pretty Woman” first came out, its narrative didn’t feel as tired. The Cinderella story of sorts follows prostitute Vivian Ward who wealthy businessman Edward Lewis hires to be his escort to business functions for a week. In 2022, with a modern audience, it’s harder to sell that romance, and the gender politics are harder to stomach.

DPAC has announced that beginning today, Monday, April 18 at 9:00 AM a digital rush lottery will take place for PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL coming to DPAC April 19-24, as part of Truist Broadway at DPAC.

Pretty Woman, The Musical has shimmered onto the stage at Baltimore's Hippodrome and landed squarely on it's Jimmy Choo'd feet. A bold and brassy tune fest, it's an homage to the 1990 film starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere and this version's cast is definitely up to the inevitable comparisons.

Broadway in Portland announces today that single tickets for PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL will go on sale on Sunday, April 10. 

An illustrious creative team is at the helm of PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL, with direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award®-winner Jerry Mitchell, music and lyrics by Grammy®-winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and book by the movie's legendary director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J. F. Lawton.  But is that enough to make this stage adaptation successful?  That depends.
