The Factory Theater Welcoms New Ensemble Members

The Factory Theater is proud to announce five new members of its artistic ensemble: Brittney Brown, Jose M. Cervantes, Ashley Yates, Michael Jones and Jennifer Betancourt.  Factory's ensemble members write all of the Factory's original plays and have full voting rights in the company, including season selection, leadership election and accepting new ensemble members. They are also forced to do arduous chores like helping with strike and manning the box office. 

Cast Announced for Theo Ubique's HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH

Cast, director and designers have been announced for HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, the thoughtfully funny and hard-rocking musical by Stephen Trask and John Cameron Mitchell that will close out Theo Ubique's first season in its new home on Howard Street in Evanston.

Hell in a Handbag Productions launches its 2019 season with a revival of the musical that started it all: POSEIDON! Casting Announced For 5th Annual CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL

Underscore Theatre Company is pleased to present its 5th annual CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, created to showcase and support the growing field of musical theatre creators from Chicago and beyond. This year's Festival features full productions of nine new musicals plus two free readings. The Festival will be performed simultaneously on two stages at The Edge Theater: the Broadway (5451 N. Broadway) and the new Off Broadway (1133 W. Catalpa Ave.) in Chicago Edgewater neighborhood. Each full production will receive at least five performances during the Festival. Single tickets and festival passes are currently available at www.cmtf.org. The press 'Sneak Preview,' featuring a sampling of songs from the 2019 Festival, is Monday, February 4 at 8 pm.

Blank Theatre Company To Present NEW YEAR, NEW YOU Cabaret

Blank Theatre Company, following their sold-out run of Spring Awakening, continues their fundraising efforts during their first season with 'New Year, New You', a cabaret celebrating the start of 2019 and setting intentions for the year ahead. Featuring some of Chicago's brightest up and coming talent, this cabaret will leave the audience feeling inspired and motivated to have their best year yet.

CHICAGO SINGS: ALANIS MORISSETTE Cast Announced

Chicago Sings: Alanis Morissette is the first of a future cabaret series featuring some of Chicago's hottest local talent for an evening to celebrate the seven Grammy Award winner and multi-platinum singer and songwriter Alanis Morissette. The concert is produced and directed by Brittney Brown, Alex Iacobucci, and Travis Monroe Neese.

Factory Theater Announces THE DARKNESS AFTER DAWN

The Factory Theater begins its 26th season with The Darkness After Dawn, October 19 - December 1, at the Factory Theater, 1623 W. Howard St., Chicago. The play is written by Factory Theater Co-Artistic Director and Jeff Award-winning playwright Manny Tamayo and directed by Factory Theater Ensemble Member Mandy Walsh.

Factory Theater Presents THE ADVENTURES OF SPIRIT FORCE FIVE

The Factory Theater presents the world premiere of The Adventures of Spirit Force Five, playing June 29 - August 11 at the Factory Theater, 1623 W. Howard St. The new play is written by Jill Oliver and directed by Spenser Davis. Previews are Friday, June 29 and Saturday, June 30 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 1 at 3 p.m.

Additional Performers Announced For Random Acts' #SAFESPACE, 3/19

Random Acts new variety event series, #SafeSpace, will launch with a show on Monday, March 19th at 8pm hosted by actor and comedian Sadieh Rifai (Amazon's Patriot.). Proceeds from the 3/19 event will be donated to Planned Parenthood.
