Town Hall's Broadway by the Year series closes its 18th acclaimed season with a finale that will feature the musicals from 1988 and 2017 alongside a cast of nearly 35 performers, including the Broadway by the Year Chorus, the Broadway by the Year Dance Ensemble (under the direction of Danny Gardner), and these great stars: William Michals (Emile de Beque in the Lincoln Center production of South Pacific), Brian Charles Rooney (critically acclaimed in the recent Broadway revival of The Three-Penny Opera), Farah Alvin (Drama Desk Nominee and veteran of 5 Broadway shows), Rebecca Faulkenberry (Nancy on Broadway in Groundhog Day), Danny Gardner (2X Drama Desk Winner, Dames at Sea, Star of Radio City Summer Spectacular), and Marina Jurica (The Singing Meteorologist from CBS-TV, Christine in the National Tour of The Phantom of the Opera).

Pigs fly! For one-night only. A 2017 planned revival of Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly was brought to life at an Actor's Fund benefit concert Monday night!

FABULOUS NEWS, The Actors Fund will present a one-night benefit concert of When Pigs Fly, featuring the cast from the recently canceled production. I went to the major press event for the show and managed to secure some fab interview moments with the entire cast and some of the creatives.

The Actors Fund announced today a one night benefit concert of last year's planned off-Broadway revival of When Pigs Fly, that never actually got to play for an audience. The concert, which will reunite the cast members and creative team for one night only, is set for Monday, April 9th.

Another all-star cast has been assembled for the second concert in this record-breaking 18th season of Town Hall's signature series,Broadway by the Year. After February's triumphant season opener, Town Hall's next concert on March 26th at 8pm will star Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita who has won fans across the length and breadth of Broadway with her starring roles in Matilda & Dames at Sea. She will be joined by Broadway favorites, Tony Yazbeck (Tony Award nominee for On the Town) and Emily Skinner (Tony Award nominee for Side Show). The contribution of Jewish composers and lyricists to the Great American Songbook will be explored in a special concert event created, written, directed and hosted by NYC impresario Scott Siegel. Famous songs from the theater, movies, and pop that have become beloved standards -- all written by Jews -- will be highlighted. Expect to hear classics both old and new from the likes of Irving Berlin, Rodgers & Hart, The Gershwins, Leonard, Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Jason Robert Brown, as well as hits made famous by their composers, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, and more.
