Chicken and Biscuits, the new family comedy by playwright-composer and actor Douglas Lyons (Beautiful), begins previews tonight at The Queens Theatre; running through March 22nd. Opening night is set for March 6th.

On Thursday, October 3rd Art of Warr productions celebrated the opening night of its production, Stupid F**king Bird by Aaron Posner, at  13th Street Repertory Theater (50 W. 13th Street) in Manhattan.

Red House Arts Center will present The Color Purple with music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray and book by Marsha Norman. Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Alice Walker, this incredibly moving musical tells the story of a young woman who manages to triumph over adversity and find her own voice through the power of love. The show opens at Redhouse on December 5th and runs through December 20th.
