The 37th season closes out with the 'Stars Out for Richter: A Community Cabaret of Talent' on Friday, August 13.

Musicals at Richter, celebrating its 37th season as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, has announced auditions for its 2021 season under the stars, featuring a main stage run of Stephen Schwartz's iconic musical 'Godspell,' playing July 23 through August 7.

Musicals at Richter will reopen with Godspell, running July 23 - August 7. Directed and Choreographed by Bradford Blake, with Music Direction by Peter Randazzo.

On Friday, January 31, 2020, I had the pleasure of seeing SMORGASBORD! at the Ridgefield Theater Barn in Ridgefield, CT.  This musical revue has music and lyrics by Bradford Blake who is also directs the show.  Under the excellent accompaniment of musical director Charles Smith on keyboard, Charles Casimiro on stand-up bass, and Robert Kogut on percussion, the talented singing cast of Anya Caravella, Robert Geils, Tracey Marble, and Zachery Theis provide a highly entertaining show comprised of song after song, each conveying its own story, without a central storyline, the songs linked only by the consistent pattern of comical food-themed lyrics.

Nothing kicks off the holiday season better than laughter, music, anda?? Innuendo? Bradford Blake's Wreck the Halls flips the holiday season on its derriere and brings a raucous start to the holiday season. From the opening disclaimer to the endless dick jokes, Wreck the Halls at TheatreWorks New Milford had the audience in stitches from beginning to end.

On December 6th, TheatreWorks New Milford will open Wreck the Halls, written and directed by Bradford Blake with musical direction by Charles Smith.

If what you know about 'Cabaret' is informed by the classic 1972 movie which made Liza Minnelli a superstar, you owe yourself to see the Tony-winning musical stage version like the one at community-based Sherman Playhouse. Director Bradford Blake, inspired by London's Donmar Warehouse 1993 revival which made it to Studio54 in 1998, creates a solid, engaging production that is both faithful to the cautionary theme of the original Broadway production and authentic to the raw and seedy world of the decadent Kit Kat Klub, Berlin 1931.

Recently, filmmaker and master puppeteer, Roberto Ferreira, co-founder of the Puppet School of San Francisco, L.A., and New York, (www.PuppetSchool.com) came to TheatreWorks New Milford to prep the cast on the finer points of puppeteering for the premiere of the Theatre's upcoming hit musical comedy, AVENUE Q. With Book by Jeff Whitty and Music & Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, this puppet-filled production won the coveted 2004 Tony 'Triple Crown' for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book.
