Sydney Theatre Company Artistic Director Kip Williams unveiled the STC 2020 season tonight a?' a year brimming with fantastic writing, electric performances and beautiful designs. The season will consist of 12 plays performed over four venues a?' the Roslyn Packer Theatre in Walsh Bay, the Drama Theatre and Playhouse Theatre at the Sydney Opera House, and Riverside Theatre in Parramatta.

Gloucester Stage Company is the first theater in the country to produce THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT following its SRO limited run on Broadway. Based on the 2012 essay/book co-written by John D'Agata and Jim Fingal, the play explores the conflict between an unorthodox author (D'Agata) and the young fact-checker (Fingal) assigned by his magazine editor to vet a groundbreaking piece about a teen's suicide in Las Vegas. GSC mounts its production with local luminary and Academy Award nominee Lindsay Crouse, New York and Off-Broadway actor Mickey Solis, and recent Harvard University graduate Derek Speedy, making his Gloucester debut, under the direction of the estimable Sam Weisman.

Netflix has rounded out the cast for Andrew Dominik's “Blonde” starring Ana De Armas.

Simon Stone stages his contemporary rewrite of Euripides' tragedy, Medea, at the BAM Harvey Theater running Jan 12—Feb 23, 2020. The production will star Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Rose Byrne (Damages, Bridesmaids, Get Him to the Greek) and two-time Emmy winner and Tony nominee Bobby Cannavale (Mauritius, The Motherf**ker With the Hat), with full cast to be announced. 

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 40th Anniversary Season of professional theater with the regional premiere of The Lifespan of a Fact from August 30 through September 22 at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Gloucester Stage is the first theater in the country to produce the critically-acclaimed The Lifespan of a Fact since the play's SRO smash hit world premiere Broadway run featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Cherry Jones, and Bobby Cannavale closed in January 2019.

In a mystery that carries him from gin-soaked jazz clubs in Harlem to the hard-edged slums of Brooklyn and, finally, into the gilded halls of New York's power brokers, Lionel contends with thugs, corruption and the most dangerous man in the city to honor his friend and save the woman who might be his own salvation.

Film at Lincoln Center announces Edward Norton's Motherless Brooklyn as Closing Night of the 57th New York Film Festival (September 27 – October 13), making its New York premiere at Alice Tully Hall on Friday, October 11, 2019. The film will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures later this year. 

Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci star in Martin Scorsese's THE IRISHMAN, an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century.

According to Vulture, stage and screen couple Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne have their eye on their next project together. The duo will star in Euripedes's Medea at BAM this January. The play will be directed by Simon Stone.

Quickie Fest 7, the one-minute movie festival, has announced its roster of Special Jury members and short film slate for its seventh incarnation, which will take place this Saturday, June 29th at 7:00PM at NYC's SVA Theatre. The event will kick off with beer from Brooklyn's Six Point Brewing (included with every ticket) followed by back-to-back short films, all under a minute long. The evening will conclude with the jury awards.
