What did our critic think of MEMPHIS at Town Hall? Despite the formulaic plot, it's one of those refreshing musicals that really isn't based on any prior works. With music and lyrics by David Bryan of Bon Jovi and and book by Joe DiPietro (recognizable for penning I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change), it's got an exciting and driving score, and the story is clever enough to keep the show moving nicely. 

Last week, Cherry Creek Theatre (CCT) announced its 2019 season which will be helmed by a slate of all-female directors.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities closes its 42nd theatre season with Stephen Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George, directed by Rod A. Lansberry, opening on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

"The Last Romance," written by Joe DiPietro and directed by Christy Montour-Larson, is the ninth annual summer theater fundraiser for Senior Housing Options (SHO), a non-profit organization providing quality affordable housing and services for 500 adults in Colorado.  The production is SHO's major -- and only -- annual fundraiser and builds on the success of past runs such as "The Odd Couple (Female Version)" (2015), "On Golden Pond" (2014), "Steel Magnolias" (2013), and "Driving Miss Daisy" (2012).

The Colorado Theatre Guild's 11th Annual Henry Awards will take place Monday, July 18, 2016 at the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue in Parker, Colorado. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and the awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m., followed by an after-party. Tickets are $23 for CTG members (limit 2 per person online with the code Henry2016), $30 non-members or $50 VIP. The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center (FAC) FAC honors Black History Month with one of American theatre's most timeless and touching plays, Driving Miss Daisy, written by Alfred Uhry and directed by Producing Artistic Director, Scott RC Levy. In performance from February 4?21. With humor and heartfelt emotion, Uhry's Pulitzer Prize?winning play poignantly explores the transformative power of true friendship.

BETC's Outside Mullingar is 'simply terrific: a moving story, beautifully told and impeccably acted,' according to The Denver Post, and audiences seem to agree. With show attendance and demand high, BETC has added two perfomances to the run.

Her name was Lee Joseph. She passed away in 2013 at the age of 96, after what was in every sense of the term a full life. She hung around with the sort of people who got called before the HUAC, was married for a time to Arthur Herzog, Jr. (who co-wrote the Billie Holliday standard 'God Bless the Child'), and was an activist up through the later days of her life, when she marched in Occupy Wall Street protests. And she served as the basis for Vera, the punchy nonagenarian at the center of her granddaughter Amy Herzog's play 4000 Miles, now in its Colorado debut at the Fine Arts Center.

What I truly appreciated most about this exceptional production was the sheer simplicity of it making the main focus the amazing performances!
