Cherry Creek Theatre Company to Stage 4000 MILES at the Shaver-Ramsey Showroom, 6/3-26

After suffering a major loss while he was on a cross-country bike trip, 21 year-old Leo seeks solace from his feisty 91 year-old grandmother Vera in her West Village apartment. Over the course of a single month, these unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately reach each other. "4000 Miles" looks at how two outsiders find their way in today's world.

Cherry Creek Theatre Company presents "4000 Miles" June 3 through 26 at the Shaver-Ramsey Showroom, 2414 East 3rd Ave. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. Single tickets are $35; $30 for seniors/students by calling 303-800-6578 or online at www.cherrycreektheatre.org.

The cast includes Billie McBride* as Vera, Kevin Kantor as Leo, Katie Cross as Bec and Samantha Saunders as Amanda.

Amy Herzog received a Master in Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama. As an American playwright, she has written many plays including 4000 miles which was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Herzog based several characters in her plays on family members. The character of "Vera Joseph" in "4000 Miles," is based on Herzog's grandmother, Leepee. Vera initially appeared in her play "After the Revolution." Leo in "4000 Miles" is based on her cousin who lost a good friend.

Cherry Creek Theatre Company is the vision of a group of dedicated Cherry Creek North residents, businesses and local theater leaders, who have made it their mission to enhance and enrich the Cherry Creek community by producing a broad range of high quality productions that will be entertaining, educational, enriching and diverse.
