Producer Vineyard Entertainment (a sole proprietorship) presents a New York showcase of FEAST: A Yoruba Project with a cast and crew from across the African Diaspora at the Dorothy B. Williams Theater at HERE, July 11 through July 14, 2019. The show will preview July 11th and open July 12th with an opening reception hosted by Taste of Africa USA. Following the 7pm show on July 13th, audience is invited to a 'talkback' with cast and designers.

Evie Rhodes is a Black woman playwright who is best-known as a novelist. One of her more acclaimed books is Expired. Rhodes will bring her authentic, raw storytelling style to the stage along with acclaimed director Bianca LaVerne Jones, who will direct Looking Through the Stained Glass Window.
The Amoralists (James Kautz, Artistic Director) announce their 11th season, RICOCHET: An Amoralists Anthology about Surviving an American Epidemic. RICOCHET will feature four boundary-pushing original, intersecting plays that follow a community as it copes with the aftermath of a mass shooting. Written by The Amoralists 2018/2019 'WRIGHT CLUB playwrights, Gabriel Jason Dean, Charly Evon Simpson, and James Anthony Tyler, the season will include four complementary original graphic novels created by Danica Novgorodoff.

At its basic essence, a play tells a story. But when the audience has difficulty understanding the story and the language, the message, no matter how poignant or powerful, is lost. The Wedding Gift, a world premiere play at the Contemporary American Theater Festival, is a visual feast for audience members, but due to the storytelling method, many audience members are unable to understand the imaginative story.
Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents William Shakespeare's towering epic King Lear, directed by CST Founder and Artistic Director Barbara Gaines and featuring Chicago theater legend Larry Yando in the title role.
