Steppenwolf Theatre Has Announced its 2020/21 Season and the Grand Opening of New Theatre Building

Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro and the Steppenwolf ensemble announced the 2020/21 Season today. As the storied ensemble theatre company embarks on its 45th season, a lineup of thrilling plays will be featured in its current home at 1650 N Halsted with the final production of the season premiering in the new state-of-the-art theatre building at 1646 N Halsted in August 2021.

VIDEO: James Cromwell Talks the 'Grey Divorce' in GRAND HORIZONS

James Cromwell was a guest on Thursday's episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan to talk about the new play he stars in, Grand Horizons. During the interview, host Kelly Ripa mentioned that the show is based on a 'Gray Divorce,' to with Cromwell replied, 'Evidentally there's an epidemic of divorces for people in their 80s, which in some ways I can understand, having been married three times.'

Back in that age we call golden, Broadway marquees were frequently set ablaze by long-running plays that producers looking to turn a profit lovingly referred to as boulevard comedies. Grand Horizons officially opened on January 23 at The Hayes Theater, where it will play a limited 10-week engagement. Directed by Leigh Silverman, Grand Horizons stars Jane Alexander (Nancy), James Cromwell (Bill), Priscilla Lopez (Carla), Ben McKenzie (Ben), Maulik Pancholy (Tommy), Ashley Park (Jess), and Michael Urie (Brian). The brilliant mind behind this original play belongs to none other than playwright Bess Wohl, who may be making her Broadway debut with Grand Horizons but is far from a stranger of the stage.

New Stage Adaptation Of JANE EYRE By Elizabeth Williamson Debuts In February

A new adaptation of Jane Eyre, Charlotte Brontë's beloved tale of courage, sacrifice and self-respect, will debut next month at Hartford Stage.  The novel has been adapted for the stage by Hartford Stage Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Williamson, who will also direct.  Jane Eyre runs Thursday, February 13, through Saturday, March 14.
