Jack White, the highly revered singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer, has signed a first-ever global, multi-year agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) to administer the iconic artist's entire song catalog.
The Songwriters Hall of Fame announced today that Alan Menken will be the 2017 recipient of the esteemed Johnny Mercer Award at the 48th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner slated for Thursday, June 15th at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
The Metropolitan Room presents Stacy Sullivan's A Night at the Troubadour -Presenting Elton John and David Ackles, which explores one night in the life of the late David Ackles, a singer-songwriter who recorded four highly regarded albums between 1968 and 1973. Along the way, he gathered a group of ardent fans including Phil Collins, Elvis Costello and Elton John, for whom Ackles opened at the Troubadour in a twist of fate on August 25, 1970.
Thursday's snowstorm forced cancellation of singer Stacy Sullivan's show, A Night at the Troubadour: Presenting Elton John and David Ackles, at Metropolitan Room that evening. The new date is February 27th at 9:30pm in addition to the previously scheduled show on Mach 17th at 7pm.

In addition, she will bring her award winning, It's a Good Day- A Tribute to Miss Peggy Lee, to the Sheen Center in Greenwich Village in a benefit for Astor's Lawrence F. Hickey Center for Child Development on Saturday, Feb. 4th at 7 pm.

After 50 active years of hit song making and international album sales well into the multi-millions, it's safe to say that esteemed singer-songwriter and musician Gordon Lightfoot resides with some very exclusive company atop the list of all-time greats. But in the meantime they have been conjuring up these wild concepts in Tune In Time, a musical theater game show staged semi-regularly at The York Theatre Company on East 54th Street (the next installment will be on Monday, November 9 at 7:30 pm) that could have been created by some hybrid of Chuck Barris (of The Gong Show fame) and Mel Brooks. As the show's creators and producers Amy Engelhardt and Heather Shields are fond of promoting about Tune In Time, "Anything goes . . . and usually does."
