BELLPORT CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL is a whimsical storytelling festival for children aged 3-12 and their families. A program packed day will be held on Isabella Rossellini's Farm in the historic seaside town of Bellport, NY on 20th July, 10am-5pm.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

The Art Institute of Chicago commemorates the centenary of Bauhaus with an exhibition highlighting the output of the acclaimed German art school's textile workshop and its impact on modern and contemporary American art. Weaving Beyond the Bauhaus, on view from August 3, 2019 to February 16, 2020, features 50 works both on and off the loom by pioneering artists such as Anni Albers, Claire Zeisler, Lenore Tawney, Otti Berger, Gunta Stolzl, Else Regensteiner, Ethel Stein, and Sheila Hicks.

Celebrating its 7th Anniversary, the LAKE TAHOE DANCE FESTIVAL, founderartistic director Christin Hanna, will present a program of works by Agnes De Mille (a duet from her final work The Other performed by Stephen Hanna and Abi Stafford of New York City Ballet), and ballets by Constantine Baecher, Roya Carreras, Katherine Duke, Traci Finch, and Jacopo Godani. The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others.
