On October 11th, join the Veronica Swift Trio as they perform songs from the Great American Songbook, including bebop and jazz age favorites. At age 25, Veronica Swift is recognized as one of the top young jazz singers on the scene.Swift grew up on tour with her jazz pianist father and jazz singer mother, appearing at venues like The Jazz Standard and Dizzy's Club. Since then, her passionate and intense vocals have thrilled audiences at Lincoln Center, where she appeared with Michael Feinstein, as well as headlining appearances at Telluride Jazz Festival, Blues Alley, The Jazz Cruise, and Birdland.

This year, TRANSART continues this time-tested tradition with the 19th annual Jazz in the Valley. The non-profit organization - dedicated to promoting awareness of the art, history, and popular culture of people of African ancestry - presents two stages of world-class jazz on Sunday, August 18, from Noon-6pm. You'll hear unforgettable performances from jazz veterans including Warren Vaché, Houston Person, and Norman Simmons; up-and-comers like Veronica Swift, Christian Sands, and Peter and Will Anderson; and straight-ahead stalwarts such as Steve Turre, George Cables, Buster Williams, along with many more. These gifted players and others will pay tribute to a pantheon of jazz legends, including this year's featured honoree, trumpeter Randy Brecker; plus, the music of Randy Weston, Erroll Garner, Sidney Bechet, Louis Armstrong will also be featured.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - will present Hilary Kole in "Something Old, Something New" on Today, September 27 at 8:30 PM.  An authentic talent not to be missed, Kole is backed by a brilliant jazz quartet featuring pianist Adam Birnbaum, bassist Paul Gill, drummer Aaron Kimmel, and guitarist John Hart. She unlocks new meaning in old standards and little heard art songs, as well as her infectious and emotionally-compelling new pop single "Moon Song," which she co-wrote with celebrated producer, singer and songwriter Devin Bing.
