Chart topping Mother Mother will release their new album, Dance and Cry this Friday, November 2 via Universal Music Canada. Of the LP the band's lead singer Ryan Guldemond notes, 'This album was written from a place of wanting to be moved, and wanting to move others. At a certain point of the writing process I made a pact with myself that I wouldn't pursue songs that didn't either make me want to dance or cry, or ideally both. This ethos catalyzed a broader theme with regards to healing, and how feeling one's pain and becoming truly intimate, loving and curious with it, is a crucial part of finding your way out of it.'

This fall, contemporary opera producer AMERICAN OPERA PROJECTS (AOP) will present COMPOSERS & THE VOICE: SIX SCENES 2018, a showcase concert of opera scenes from nine artists emerging in the world of contemporary opera. The composers Matt Browne, Scott Ordway, Frances Pollock, Pamela Stein Lynde, Amber Vistein and Alex Weiser, and librettists Laura Barati, Kim Davies, andSokunthary Svay, were chosen by AOP to spend a year creating new works in its bi-annual fellowship program Composers & the Voice (C&V).
