The award-winning Albany Park Theater Project (APTP) announces the upcoming world premiere of Port of Entry, opening in July 2023.

What is it about juicy backstage drama that so intrigues audiences? For decades, people have flocked to films and plays portraying the exciting events that happen behind the curtain. Arguably, the most famous musical on this topic was written by the God of musical theatre: Stephen Sondheim. It’s title: Follies.

Theater to Go in partnership with Kelsey Theatre presents OTHER DESERT CITIES Produced and directed by Ruth Markoe. The play will run for two weekends from May 26- June 4 Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 2PM at Kelsey Theatre in West Windsor NJ on the campus of Mercer County Community College.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre rounds out its 2022-2023 season with Jonathan Larsons’s revolutionary rock musical, RENT. This Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Pulitzer Prize winning musical previews April 20 and runs April 21 – April 30 in the Nafe Katter Theatre in the UConn Fine Arts Complex.

McCarter Theater will welcome audiences to Pearl Cleage's love letter to friendship and the Harlem Renaissance, BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY, on stage in the Berlind Theatre May 6th through the 28th. The play marks the McCarter directorial debut of Associate Artistic Director Nicole A. Watson. 

Vivid Stage, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will present 101 Humiliating Stories by Lisa Kron from April 13 through 16, kicking off their three-week Spring Solos Series.

The Wayward Artist has announced the West Coast Premiere of In The Green by Grace McClean. Performances start April 14, 2023 and will continue through April 30th at the Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana.   

Second Stage Theater will host a Winter’s Ball geared towards young professionals and arts patrons, featuring Michael R. Jackson and Common. The fundraising event will take place on Monday, February 27 at The Pierre Hotel. See

According to various sources, Tony-nominated actor Charles Kimbrough passed away in Culver City, California on January 11th at the age of 86.

Television and film star Maude Apatow will join the cast of Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey from February 7 – April 2, 2023. Apatow will make her New York stage debut alongside Tony Award Winner Matt Doyle (Company) as Seymour.
