HERE to Stage THE PIGEONING by Robin Frohardt, 12/3-22

As part of its 2013-2014 producing season, HERE presents The Pigeoning, by Robin Frohardt. A HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP) and Dream Music Puppetry Program presentation, The Pigeoning plays December 3 - 22 in the Dorothy B. Williams Theatre at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, just below Spring Street). Official Opening Night is Wednesday, December 4 at 7:00pm.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY Comes to Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 12/3-8

The 2013/2014 National Tour of the new musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY, based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will make its Thousand Oaks premiereDec. 3-8 at The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza as part of the 2013-14 Broadway in Thousand Oaks Series.

Theater for the New City Hosts 37th Village Halloween Costume Ball Tonight

Nonstop theater, a costume competition and ballroom dancing will bewitch the East Village in Theater for the New City's 37th annual Village Halloween Costume Ball tonight, October 31 at TNC, 155 First Avenue. This unique festival continues as a grand coming-together for everyday New Yorkers and artists alike. A carefree fall tradition, it celebrates the creativity that comes with the season.

Gotham Chamber Opera Stages BADEN-BADEN 1927, Now thru 10/29

Gotham Chamber Opera presents the U.S. Stage Premiere of Baden-Baden 1927: a staged evening of four one-act operas that appeared together at the Baden-Baden Festival in 1927, from tonight, October 23-29, 2013 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY National Tour to Play Morrison Center, 12/14-15

The 2013/2014 National Tour of the new musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY, based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will make its Boise premiere December 14-15, 2013 at the Morrison Center as part of the Fred Meyer Broadway In Boise Series.

Theatre For The New City Halloween Ball Set for 10/31

THEATER FOR THE NEW CITY HOLDS ITS 37th ANNUAL VILLAGE HALLOWEEN COSTUME BALL OCTOBER 31. Underground stars perform each year in TNC's Halloween Cabarets. Guests will see, be seen and vie for costume prizes. Celebrants will sink fangs into Halloween delicacies in The Witches' Cauldron.

HERE's TRADE PRACTICES Postponed; BOTCH to Open 2013-14 Season, 11/12

HERE begins its 2013-2014 producing season with the premiere of the site-specific Artistic Director production, Trade Practices, by Kristin Marting & David Evans Morris. Trade Practices, a new work exploring the notion of 'value' against the backdrop of the booms and busts of the past decade, is set to play October 18 - November 3. Official Opening Night is set for Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00pm. Trade Practices will take place at a site in lower Manhattan's Financial District; address to be announced.

Full Casting Announced for NY Premiere of CINDERELLA, 10/23

The New York premiere of Wheeldon's full-length production of Cinderella will be performed Wednesday, October 23 at 8 pm; Thursday, October 24 at 8 pm; Friday, October 25 at 8 pm; Saturday, October 26 at 2 pm and 8 pm; and Sunday, October 27 at 2 pm. The acclaimed work, a co-production with Dutch National Ballet, was first performed in December 2012 by the Dutch company, and the U.S. premiere was presented by SF Ballet in May 2013.

Gotham Chamber Opera Names Andrew Norman Third Composer in Residence

Gotham Chamber Opera in collaboration with Opera Philadelphia and Music-Theatre Group is proud to announce that composer Andrew Norman has been selected as its third Composer in Residence (CIR). Norman was chosen from over 100 applicants for the position and now has the opportunity to follow a personalized development track focused on the further development of his skills as an operatic composer.

Following a successful engagement at Joe's Pub in New York City, Joey Arias and Kristian Hoffman bring their acclaimed show Lightning Strikes to Feinstein's at the Nikko for one performance only - Thursday, October 24 at 8 p.m. Located within Hotel Nikko (222 Mason Street, San Francisco), Feinstein's at the Nikko presents a wide range of entertainers from stage and screen all within an intimate 140-seat cabaret setting.

Bebe Neuwirth, Ellen Greene & More Set for Uptown Downtown Benefit, 10/14

Mikhail Baryshnikov serves as the Honorary Chairman for Uptown Downtown, a special one-night-only extravaganza to benefit the Abrons Arts Center on October 14. Bringing together the brightest lights of New York City's uptown and downtown performance scenes, the evening will feature Kyle Abraham, Joey Arias, Jack Ferver + James Whiteside, Ellen Greene, Robert La Fosse, Bebe Neuwirth, Philippe Petit, and other special guests. Lance Horne serves as Musical Director.

Kyle Loven and Paurl Walsh Star in Guthrie Theater's MOON SHOW 143, Beg. Tonight

The Guthrie Theater presents the Dowling Studio's 2013-14 season opener Moon Show 143 by Minnesota-bred, Seattle-based theater and visual artist Kyle Loven. Loven's body of work combines puppetry, projections and other art forms with live actors. Nick Hubbard will direct the world premiere of this production inspired by moon myths and beliefs from around the world.

NPR's Ari Shapiro Performs at BSO Gala Tonight

Signaling the start of the social season, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will hold its annual Gala Concert tonight, September 7 at 8:30 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. This year's Gala will be led by BSO Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly. The concert features the band Pink Martini with vocalist Storm Large, who will collaborate with the BSO for an intoxicating mix of cabaret, samba, jazz and Hollywood musicals. National Public Radio's news correspondent Ari Shapiro, a frequent guest vocalist with Pink Martini, will perform.

Japan Society Adds Additional 9/21 Performance of Basil Twist's DOGUGAESHI

Japan Society has announced an added performance in the September 18-22 limited engagement of renowned puppet artist Basil Twist's award-winning Dogugaeshi, the production launching Japan Society's 60th Anniversary Performing Arts Season: Japan, the U.S. & Beyond!. Originally set to play seven performances, the production has added an eighth performance: Saturday, September 21 at 2:00pm. Complete schedule as follows: Wednesday, September 18 at 7:00pm; Thursday, September 19 at 7:30pm; Friday, September 20 at 7:00 & 9:30pm; Saturday, September 21 at 2:00, 7:00 & 9:30pm; and Sunday, September 22 at 2:00 pm.
