B.R.O.K.E.N code B.I.R.D switching is a thought-provoking new work by playwright Tara L. Wilson Noth. It will have a limited workshop engagement through November 23, at the Stephanie Feury Theatre, 5636 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles. In the play by the new playwright, a lawyer is tasked with representing a black teenager accused of murder. In her search for the truth, she is forced to face her own devastating truths about marriage, race and the woman she's chosen to be.

The Australian producers of the musical SIX have announced the Australian Queens set to join SIX as it embarks on its Australian tour.

Author, public speaker, fundraising consultant and disability advocate, Linda Smith, has been honored as a Finalist in the 2019 Independent Author Network (IAN) Book of the Year Awards, for her debut memoir “Unwanted: How a Mother Learned to Turn Shame, Grief, and Fear into Purpose, Passion, and Empowerment.”

On the surface Geva Theatre Center's Fielding Studio series production of QUEEN examines the potential devastation caused by the dwindling honeybee population due to Colony Collapse Disorder. This first look seems to indicate that Madhuri Shekar's play will be another social drama about the capitalistic monolith and its insidious corruption in greedy pursuit of wealth. Monsanto stands as the corporate boogeyman that needs to be taken down to save the bees and thereby rescue the planet. The plot could be linear and predictable, clearly establishing villain and hero. Thankfully, Shekar's play delivers a much more complex and thoughtful dramatic work.

Geva Theatre Center's 2019-2020 Fielding Studio Series begins with Queen, written by Madhuri Shekar and directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh. The production begins performances on November 6 and runs in the Fielding Stage through November 24.

BroadwayWorld has a first look at The Mean Girls National Tour which launched on September 21 in Buffalo, NY. Mean Girls features a book by nine-time Emmy Award winner Tina Fey, based on her screenplay for the film, music by three-time Emmy Award winner Jeff Richmond; and lyrics by two-time Tony Award nominee Nell Benjamin. Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs.

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announced today the six actors who will play the queens in the Ordway pre-Broadway run of the global hit new musical SIX by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss. The Big Easy Award-winning theatre company, See 'Em On Stage ('Lizzie'-Best Musical 2016), presents CABARET (1998 Version) with music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb and book by Joe Masteroff. 'Cabaret' is based on the true stories of Christopher Isherwood which he documented in his book 'Goodbye to Berlin'. 'Cabaret' made its Broadway debut in 1966 before becoming a 1972 Oscar-winning movie starring Liza Minnelli. In 1998, 'Cabaret' returned to Broadway in the Tony Award-winning production starring Alan Cumming. This production uses the script and score from that version.

Mark Petty of the transatlantic writing team of Anderson & Petty will be presenting an evening of his collaborations as part of Kieran Brown's 'Sunday Night Socials' at The Union Theatre this Sunday 10th November at 8pm.
