The RRazz Room, San Francisco's premier nightclub, will present the Bay Area debut of "Jim Caruso's Cast Party" tonight, November 6 at 8:00 PM. "Jim Caruso's Cast Party" is a wildly popular weekly event that has been bringing a sprinkling of Broadway glitz and urbane wit to the legendary Birdland in New York City every Monday night for the past nine years. The hilariously impromptu evening has also been celebrating local talent across the country, in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Cleveland, Austin, Orlando, Pittsburgh, and on the high seas.

Andrea Marcovicci, the acclaimed singer and actress, has announced the release of her first CD of new material in five years, Smile, on her own label Andreasong. The new recoding her is based on her show of the same name that will be performed at New York's famed Cafe Carlyle from October 2 to 27 after hit runs in Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. The disc can be purchased at CDBaby.com and Marcovicci.com. The CD will also be available at live performances, starting with Andrea's final West Coast performances of Smile at The Gardenia in Hollywood on September 14 and 15.
The music of Mickey Leonard, composer and arranger cherished by the cabaret and jazz communities was presented by Karen Oberlin at the Metropolitan Room on January 22, 2011. The evening was hosted by David Hadju and Mr. Leonard's music was sung & played by a bevy of the music worlds finest. The event will also take place on February 10, at 9:30 hosted by Rex Reed. Mickey Leoanrd has written some of the most beloved standards of the Great American Songbook, such as 'Why Did I Choose You?' and 'I'm All Smiles' with lyrics by Herb Martin. He has also written with lyricists Carolyn Leigh and Marshall Barer to name a few, and he has arranged and conducted for the legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans and many others. Award-winning singers Tom Andersen and Barbara Brussell will share the bill on Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. in the 'Any Wednesday' concert series at the Barnes and Noble at Lincoln Triangle in New York City. The duo will sing and then sign CD's on the third floor in the free and public event.
February is filled with music at Barnes & Noble. The very popular Any Wednesday series celebrating cabaret and theater music continues; plus newly created a jazz series on Monday nights, entitled Cool Mondays, will featuring the best in jazz instrumentalists and vocalists. Each musical program is about a half hour, and followed by an autograph/meet-and-greet session with the featured artist. Barnes & Noble also offers other events related to music or theater!
