January at 92Y brings three consecutive evenings devoted to the Inflection series, January 22 - 24. Inflection, which spotlights bold collaborations across multiple disciplines, is the creation of Hanna Arie-Gaifman, who celebrates her 20th anniversary this season as Director of 92Y's Tisch Center for the Arts. The series opened in November with the Geneva Camerata's Dance of the Sun, which set the orchestra in motion as they played works by Lully and Mozart. January's events explore the sometimes porous boundary between speech and song, on a continuum ranging from heightened speech to chanting, Sprechstimme, and full-throated vocalizing.
FormidAbility's unique approach to integrating those with disabilities on either side of the fourth wall enhances two pieces that prove tricky for the uninitiated to appreciate fully.

Tim Daly has starred in three Main Stage productions since 2013, including his role alongside sister Tyne Daly in the World Premiere of DOWNSTAIRS by Theresa Rebeck, which transferred Off-Broadway in fall 2018. ?Dina Janis and the Dorset Theatre Festival have provided me and many artists with a spectacular artistic home. It is dedicated visionaries like Dina who do the work of a genuine artistic director. She inspires, entertains, challenges, and enlightens audiences. Dorset is beyond fortunate to have this theatre in the community.? -Tim Daly Actor, director, producer and philanthropist, Tim Daly currently stars as ?Henry McCord? in the hit CBS series ?Madam Secretary?. Before beginning ?Madam Secretary?. Daly appeared on the small screen on critically acclaimed series such as CBS? remake of ?The Fugitive?, ABC?s ?Private Practice?, NBC?s ?Wings?, and HBO?s ?The Sopranos?, for which Daly received an Emmy Award Nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Daly served as executive producer on the Showtime feature ?Execution of Justice?, which garnered him a GLAAD Award for ?Outstanding Made for Television Movie.? He also produced the filmed ?Edge of America?, which opened the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, and won the Humanitas Prize and the George Foster Peabody Award. Always eager to return to the stage, Daly most recently starred opposite his sister, Tyne Daly, in Theresa Rebeck?s new play, DOWNSTAIRS, at the Cherry Lane Theater. The play was first produced at the Dorset Theater Festival, where Daly has done several other productions Daly?s first Broadway appearance in COASTAL DISTURBANCES earned him the Theatre World Award. Inheriting her father?s passion to share and teach, she has devised several ways of communicating her own excitement about classical music, including The Bernstein Beat, a family concert about her father modeled after his own groundbreaking Young People?s Concerts. She also has narrated concerts about Mozart and Copland. Pittance Chamber Music, known for featuring the extraordinary resident artists of the Los Angeles Opera pit and stage, presents A Tale of Two Emigres with James Conlon. LA Opera Music Director James Conlon curates and conducts a unique program that tells the tale of Jewish emigre composers Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Arnold Schoenberg, who left their homelands and ultimately settled in Los Angeles as a result of the Nazis' rise to power. The program will include a talk by Maestro Conlon, who will also conduct works by Korngold and Schoenberg performed by a large ensemble from the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra. The concert takes place at Zipper Hall, Colburn School in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
