The first full production in its 2021-2022 season, the opera company will present Tazewell Thompson’s powerful opera, BLUE for two performances, September 11 & 12 both at 7PM at The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre.

Earlier this week, the New York Theatre community gathered for a private screening of the upcoming film RESPECT, which is out in theatres starting today, August 13. Star of the film, Jennifer Hudson, director Liesl Tommy and more were on hand for the big night.

Beehive: The 60s Musical is a revue that celebrates the powerful female voices of the 1960s with such timeless hits as 'My Boyfriend's Back', 'Be My Baby', 'Son of a Preacher Man', and 'Me and Bobby McGee'. Told from the perspective of six young women who come of age in this enigmatic decade, Beehive takes us from their first Beehive Dance to the challenges we faced as a nation.

The sounds, sights, and moves of the powerhouse female vocalists of the 1960's will bring the Players' new outdoor Elsewhere Stage roaring to life in Beehive: The 60's Musical! 

Raising their curtain earlier this summer, Uptown! has revealed what they are calling their 'Second Act,' complete with state-of-the-art Covid-safe renovations, an innovative new sound and multi-media system, an energizing branding campaign and a star-studded lineup of music and performers.

With a cast consisting of stars from Broadway's greatest rock musicals, as well as incredible Rock & Roll singers, Neil Berg shares the often unknown stories from the fifty-year history of the music that changed the world forever. NEIL BERG'S 50 YEARS OF ROCK AND ROLL will rock the Times-Union Center on November 16, 2021 at 7:30pm.

Burgess joins a cast that also includes Nicole Scherzinger, Harry Connick Jr., and Taraji P. Henson.

Additional performances will go on sale later this month. After over a year of being shuttered due to COVID-19, Perseverance Theatre is reopening its doors and returning to live, in-person theatre in the fall. National and local health and safety guidelines will be in place.

The album will be released via Joe Bonamassa’s independent blues label KTBA Records. It was produced and recorded by Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.

They also flew in their drummer Rob Humphreys (Leonard Cohen, Jason Mraz) for the recording and worked with Chad Copelin (Sufjan Stevens, Christina Perri, Ben Rector) back in Oklahoma for keys and additional production as well as keyboardist Dan Walker (Heart).
