Winners of the 13th annual Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year (SSSSPOTY) and the 12th annual Stiles + Drewe Best New Song Prize were announced last night at a gala held at Theatre Royal Haymarket, hosted by Joanna Riding. The gala saw twelve student competitors each perform a Stephen Sondheim song, and a Best New Song Prize entrant written by members of Mercury Musical Developments. The winner of this year's SSSSPOTY award was Stuart Thompson from LAMDA, who performed Franklin Shepard, Inc and My Thing. Theo Jamieson was awarded the Stiles + Drewe Prize for his original song Words/Amazing.

Soho Cinders, a witty, heartwarming twist on the classic Cinderella fairytale, will play at the Bridewell Theatre from 10-13 July 2019.

Venice Theatre is kicking the summer off right with its fun, energetic production of Honk. This Anthony Drewe and George Stiles musical based on the story of the Ugly Duckling, reminds us that it is alright to be different. Honk follows Ugly in his journey to find himself and a place of belonging. Seen as an outcast by his siblings and his father, Drake, Ugly is befriended by the Cat whose sole ambition is to eat Ugly.

Following its critically acclaimed London run, Olivier Award-winning musical Honk! is finally flying the nest this year, soaring into the Belgrade Theatre 4-8 June.

HONK! Is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson story of "The Ugly Duckling". It embodies a message of tolerance and bullying…and as Director Bud Martin suggests in his program notes…'the discourse in our country today is full of bullying, name-calling, racism and anti-immigration". OPENING! Columbia Children's Theatre presents THE THREE LITTLE PIGS with music by George Stiles and book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe. The production is directed by Paul Lindley II with choreography by Lisa Sendler and stars an ensemble cast. THE THREE LITTLE PIGS opens Saturday, April 20 and runs through Sunday, April 28. Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins JR. will be playing at Roswell Cultural Arts Center from Friday, May 10 through Saturday, May 11. The "practically perfect" 70-minute musical, designed for middle school-aged performers, is based on the classic P.L. Travers stories and the Walt Disney film. The Roswell Youth Theatre cast includes 30 students led by Leslie Kelley, Jane Hendrix, and Nancy Whitehead Brown.

Today the cast members of the upcoming tour of Honk! The Musical was announced. After a successful run at the Union theatre in 2017, the production went into workshops at The Arts Centre, Hounslow which is where the tour is due to open on May 1st 2019.

Royal & Derngate, Northampton, and New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich, have just announced their co-production of a new musical, The Season, by 2018 Stiles + Drewe Mentorship Award winners, Jim Barne and Kit Buchan, playing in Northampton and Ipswich in November.

Petula Clark and Joseph Millson will join the Company to play the Bird Woman and George Banks in the new production of Mary Poppins, which returns to its original West End home at the Prince Edward Theatre from 23 October 2019. They join the previously announced Zizi Strallen in the title role and Charlie Stemp as Bert.
