Ucross today announced that Anne Pendergast of Big Horn, Wyoming, has joined the artist residency program's Board of Trustees. Born and raised in Maine, Pendergast earned a BA from Bowdoin College and an MS in geology from Oregon State University, then moved to Wyoming in 1983 to work with an oil and gas exploration company in Casper. She served on the Board of Trustees for The Nature Conservancy Wyoming for 16 years and the National Advisory Council for The Brinton Museum for six years.

Ucross has announced the launch of an open call for applications for general studio residencies and The Ford Family Foundation Fellowships. Selected Fellows will enjoy uninterrupted time and space on the nonprofit’s historic 20,000-acre ranch in Fall 2023, when Ucross will be celebrating the 40 th anniversary of its renowned artist residency program.
From August through early December, 55 visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers and interdisciplinary artists will be at Ucross, which is located on a historic 20,000-acre ranch in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains in northern Wyoming. An independent jury comprised of artists and leaders in the field selected the fellows from nearly 400 applicants, as well as a dozen partners.
Monday evening, Ucross celebrated its longstanding partnership with the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel during a dinner attended by more than 100 participants of the International Hemingway Society Conference at Sheridan College.
