Holly Arsenault Named New Director of External Relations for University of Washington School of Drama

Holly Arsenault - playwright, arts administrator and Gregory Award winner - has been hired as the new Director of External Relations for the School of Drama at the University of Washington. Ms. Arsenault is leaving her position as the Executive Director of TeenTix where she worked for over ten years, helping to shape its mission and giving thousands of Puget Sound teenagers the opportunity to attend arts and cultural events in the Seattle area.

NAATCO to Close 25th Anniversary Season with SAGITTARIUS PONDEROSA

The OBIE Award-winning NAATCO, National Asian American Theater Company, concludes their 25th anniversary season with the New York Premiere of MJ Kaufman's Sagittarius Ponderosa. Ken Rus Schmoll directs an all-Asian American cast that includes Daniel K. Isaac (of TV's 'Billions'), Mia Katigbak, Glenn Kubota, Bex Kwan and Virginia Wing.

Belvoir Announces Upcoming Season

Vineyard Theatre, one of the nation's leading nonprofit theatre companies has announced today that Executive Producer/CEO Jennifer Garvey-Blackwell, who has been a key member of the company's leadership team for almost 20 years, has decided to depart at the end of September 2016 to pursue new career opportunities.

The Farm Theater to Present The Draft Reading Series 8/26 & 8/27 at ART NY

The Farm Theater will present The Draft, a new reading series featuring plays and playwrights whose work has been developed by The Farm Theater, and is now being showcased for future production. The first reading series will take place on August 26 & 27 at ART NY (520 8th Avenue, 3rd Floor) and feature new plays by Maria Paz Alegre, Merridith Allen, and Alex Raid. Admission is FREE, but seating is limited.

Playwrights Horizons has announced complete casting for A LIFE, the world premiere of a new play by Obie Award winner Adam Bock (A Small Fire and The Drunken City at Playwrights, The Receptionist, The Thugs, Swimming in the Shallows). Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Marjorie Prime, Detroit, Maple and Vine at Playwrights; You Got Older; Belleville; This Wide Night; Smokefall), A LIFE will be the second production of the theater company's 2016/2017 Season.

The UCSB Department of Theater and Dance Presents 2016-2017 Season

The Department of Theater and Dance at UC Santa Barbara is pleased to announce another exciting year of new work from our talented faculty, students, and guest artists. TheatreLAB Announces Extension of MR. BURNS, A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY

TheatreLAB, Richmond's home for unexpected and evocative performance, is proud to announce that Anne Washburn's imaginative dark comedy, Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play, is now extended due to popular demand. Directed by TheatreLAB Artistic Director, Deejay Gray, the production will now run through August 13th at TheatreLAB's venue, The Basement (300 East Broad Street). For extension performances, the roles of Colleen and Jenny will be played by Addie Barnhart and Liz Earnest. Added performances are on August 11th, 12th, and 13th at 8pm. TheatreLAB is also introducing a Special Second Viewing Rush Rate. Anyone who wants to see the show a second time can bring their receipt from their first viewing to get a half-priced ticket at the door.

Soho Rep. Presents Jomama Jones in World Premiere of DUAT

At the Connelly Theater (220 E. 4th St.), Soho Rep. welcomes the return of legendary entertainer Jomama Jones in the world premiere of Duat by Daniel Alexander Jones, running October 11-November 6. Five years ago, New York audiences and critics alike swooned over the Soho Rep. production of Jones's Radiate. David Rooney in his New York Times Critics' Pick review declared, 'Radiate glows, making it hard not to surrender to this sequin-encrusted earth mother's soulful embrace.' Hilton Als in The New Yorker said, 'What we learn from Jomama's very particular radiance is this: you don't have to reduce the musical form to a musical just to make it more digestible. If you make a good, less reductive, and more grownup show, the people will come.'

Red Bull Theater to Close 12th Season with 2016 Short New Play Festival

Red Bull Theater today announced some of the cast for Red Bull Theater's annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes featuring two brand new commissions from Lisa D'Amour and Amy Freed, alongside six brand new plays chosen from hundreds of submissions from playwrights across the country.
