Philadelphia Theatre Company continues its 2017-2018 festival-style theatre season with the local premiere of Wrestling Jerusalem, written and performed by Aaron Davidman and directed by Michael John Garc s. This one-man show grapples with identity, history, and social justice and was the impetus for the 2016 film, Wrestling Jerusalem, that has been a selection at film festivals around the country. The gripping performance takes over the stage at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (480 S. Broad Street) October 18-November 5. Philadelphia Theatre Company kicks off its 2017-2018 festival-style theatre season with the world premiere of Ruggedly Jewish: An Evening With Bob Garfield. Garfield's crazy-quilt, hilarious odyssey is a search for self: the American self, the suddenly-emerging threatened self, and his own baffled self - a secular Jew. The Lower Merion native, and the co-host of public radio's On The Media, returns to his roots by launching his one-man show right here. The show is three performances only, on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 8:00pm, and Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 3:00pm and 8:00pm. All performances are held at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (480 S. The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts today announced a comprehensive community engagement process intended to solicit innovative ideas for the renovation of the historic Merriam Theater, located in the heart of the Kimmel Center campus on the Avenue of the Arts in Center City.

Philadelphia Theatre Company kicks off its 2017-18 season with the world premiere of Ruggedly Jewish, a multimedia monologue written and performed by Bob Garfield. The show is presented for three performances only, September 15th (8 pm) and 16th (3pm and 8pm) at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre before embarking on a nationwide tour through 2018.

Movie, theater, and television star Kathleen Turner makes her cabaret debut in Finding My Voice at Philadelphia Theatre Company for one night only, Monday, September 25. 

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center and AEG Presents announced today that tickets for Jeanne Robertson: The 'Rocking Chair' Tour will go on sale Friday, June 30 at 10 a.m. Award-winning American humorist and motivational speaker Jeanne Robertson will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Winspear Opera House in the downtown Dallas Arts District.

Philadelphia Theatre Company today announced a plan for the 2017-2018 season that departs from the organization's traditional schedule of producing a five-play series. Under the leadership of Paige Price, PTC's new Producing Artistic Director, Philadelphia Theatre Company will offer a season of presented and curated activities in the theater, as the new leadership uses this period to re-focus, re-build, and re-launch.

Philadelphia Theatre Company concludes its 2016-2017 season with the May 17-June 4 run of The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, written and performed by James Lecesne, and directed by Tony Speciale with original music by Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening).

Humorist Jeanne Robertson is bringing her 'Fabulously Funny' tour to the McCallum Theatre on Monday, March 27, at 7:00pm. An overnight success nearly half a century in the making, Jeanne Robertson keeps audiences rolling on the floor with laughter.  At 71 years young, this former Miss North Carolina stands tall at 6'2' and has a personality, heart and sense of humor that soar just as high. For years, her witty speeches were mostly limited to conventions and meetings, but with the dawn of the digital age, the world became exposed to her infectious humor when her YouTube videos suddenly went viral. 

Philadelphia Theatre Company continues its 2016-2017 season with the Tony-nominated comedy Hand to God by Robert Askins on March 31-April 30.  Directed by Matt Pfeiffer with Robert Smythe as puppet designer and puppet movement director, the all-Philadelphia cast features Grace Gonglewski, Alex Keiper, Aubie Merrylees, Matteo Scammell, and William Zielinski.

Philadelphia Theatre Company will close its season on May 17-June 4 with The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, written and performed by James Lecesne, and directed by Tony Speciale with original music by Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening).  This production replaces the world premiere of American Canvas by Bill Cain, the winner of PTC's Terrence McNally New Play Award.  American Canvasimagines an ambitious portrait of Thomas Eakins,  Philadelphia's most brilliant and controversial artist.

VH1 today announced that AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL will move to Wednesday nights starting Wednesday, February 1st at 10:00PM ET/PT and continue to simulcast across both VH1 and MTV.

Philadelphia Theatre Company kicks off the new year with the inspiring and warm-hearted Having Our Say, The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years by Emily Mann, adapted from the book by Miss Sarah ("Sadie") L. Delany and Dr. A. Elizabeth ("Bessie") Delany with Amy Hill Hearth.  Running January 27-February 19 and directed by Mary B. Robinson, the cast features Perri Gaffney and Cherene Snow as the two Delany sisters.
