IAMA Theatre Company has announced a full 2020-21 virtual season of four new, solo works-in-progress and a new works playreading series, beginning Oct. 22 and running through June 10.

ABC Talent and Casting will present the 2019 ABC Discovers: Los Angeles Talent Showcase on WEDNESDAY, OCT. 16, at the El Portal Theatre for the Performing Arts in North Hollywood, California. Part of Walt Disney Television's ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for undiscovered talent, the showcase features selected participants performing in a one-night showcase for casting directors, talent agents, managers and other industry professionals. In addition, the selected showcase actors are awarded a one-year mentorship with executives from the ABC Casting Department. As part of the mentorship, the showcase actors will be offered on-camera workshops specifically for them to further hone their craft and auditioning skills. Talent will also have access to various ABC executives.

Digital arts journal Stage Raw announces the nominees for its fifth annual Stage Raw Theater Awards, to be held Monday night September 9, 2019, at Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring Street. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday August 7, 2019. The Stage Raw Theater Awards honor the finest work performed on Los Angeles area stages of 99-seats or fewer, and are selected by a jury of Stage Raw critics. This year's awards celebrate work performed between June 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019.

Fuego Productions in association with Company of Angels announces the West Coast premiere of There and Back, by playwright Raul Garza. This work opens up dialogue about the current immigration crisis with an eye towards the fraught history between the U.S. and Mexican immigrants. There and Back debuts on April 11, 2019 at Company of Angels, Los Angeles' oldest professional theater.

Tickets on sale today for three plays in the Carrie Hamilton Theatre of the Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, this fall. Daniel November 8-10, and The Receptionist by Adam Bock, directed by Andi Chapman November 16-17.

Stage Raw is a community funded professional journalism website that was created in response to the decline of arts coverage in local mainstream and alternative media.The Awards ceremony was held Monday night, August 20, at Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles, hosted by Coeurage Theatre Company, and co-directed by Jer Adrianne Lelliott, Thaddeus Shafer and Lauren Ludwig. Winners notated in red below.
