A new theatrical adaptation of Mary Shelley's seminal 1818 gothic horror novel Frankenstein is set to depict Shelley onstage, as she unfolds her monstrous tale of creature and creator. Adapted by award-winning writer Rona Munro and co-produced by leading company Selladoor (in the company's tenth anniversary year), Matthew Townshend Productions, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, and Perth Theatre at Horsecross Arts, the production will tour nationwide from 2 September - 30 November 2019. Further dates and casting are yet to be announced.

The MacDowell Colony has awarded fellowships to 87 artists from 19 states and six countries, from Oregon to Alabama and from Australia to Sweden. Sixty-seven are first-time Fellows. They are working in seven disciplines, and 27 percent identify as culturally diverse. The fellowships are for upcoming autumn and early winter residencies at one of the nation's leading contemporary arts organizations.

The Dionysian Collective, a group of actors and writers formed in 2016 in New York City, have created a literary journal, The Dionysian. Each issue publishes short plays selected through open submissions by playwrights from across the globe, interviews with established playwrights and theatre makers and art pieces from visual artists inspired by the curated plays. The Drama Book Shop hosts a free launch event with The Dionysian Collective to launch ISSUE 004, on its release date Today November 17, 2017 at 5pm. The evening will consist of readings from ISSUE 004, as well as an opportunity to purchase your own copy and meet the artists involved in the issue. Everyone is welcome to join The Dionysian family and help us 'Celebrate The Playwright' with wine, theatre and all things Dionysian. Following a short run in the UK and the UAE in 2017 Selladoor Family and ABA International Touring UK announce that their brand-new live stage adaptation of the much-loved classic children's book, published by Walker Books - written by Sam McBratney and illustrated by Anita Jeram, Guess How Much I Love You, will play a festive run in the West End at The Arts Theatre London for 4 weeks (6th 31st December) prior to a UK Tour in 2018.
