BroadwayWorld has confirmed that ROCKY, which opens on Broadway on March 13, 2014, will be led by Andy Karl (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Jersey Boys) as the title character and Margo Seibert, who will make her Broadway debut as Adrian. Preview performances begin on February 11 at the historic Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway, New York, NY).

The American Repertory Theater of WNY kicks-off the seventh season with the punk-rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson at ART/WNY's new black-box space at 16 Linwood Avenue, Buffalo NY. Celebrating the start of Buffalo's theater season, this Curtain Up! production opens September 19th and runs to October 12th, 7:30 pm. Check out a first look at the cast below!

A strictly limited Australian Premiere Season of arguably the most infamous Broadway musical of all-time, CARRIE THE MUSICAL, will play the Seymour Centre from November 13 - 30 as the final production in their 2013 Reginald season of independent works. CARRIE THE MUSICAL is also the final production of Squabbalogic Independent Music Theatre's first annual season, following hugely popular runs of Forbidden Broadway and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.

Playwrights Horizons presents the New York Premiere Production of Mr. Burns, A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY, a new play by Anne Washburn (The Internationalist), with music by Obie Award winner Michael Friedman (Saved at PH; Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson; the currentLoves' Labours Lost at Shakespeare in the Park), directed by Obie Award winner Steve Cosson (Gone Missing, This Beautiful City, founding Artistic Director of The Civilians). Ars Nova (Jason Eagan, Artistic Director; Jeremy Blocker, Managing Director) presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a FREE reading of GIRL ON GIRL by Stephen Karam, co-directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld. The cast includes Jessie Austrian, Darius Pierce, Ben Steinfeld and Emily Young.

The Old Globe revealed promotional photos for The Last Goodbye, a new musical fusing Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet with the incendiary songs of the legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Conceived and adapted by Michael Kimmel, the rock musical is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). Choreography is by Emmy Award nominee Sonya Tayeh ('So You Think You Can Dance'), and orchestrations, music direction and arrangements are by Kris Kukul. The Last Goodbye will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 20 - Nov. 3, 2013. Preview performances run Sept. 20 - Oct. 5. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets go on sale Sunday, Aug. 18 at 12 noon. After smash hit engagements in March and May, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band will return to the intimate Manhattan venue 54 Below on September 21st. Tony Award nominee Daniel Breaker, Nick Blaemire, and Caissie Levy are among the evening's performers.

A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN, the new musical, just announced casting for the upcoming Broadway production opening at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street).

Primary Stages continues its 29th season with a new production of their acclaimed 1995 OBIE Award winner, The Model Apartment, by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies (Shipwrecked!, Time Stands Still, Dinner with Friends, Sight Unseen). Directed by Evan Cabnet (A Kid Like Jake at Lincoln Center Theater, The Performers on Broadway), the production will feature Mark Blum (The Assembled Parties and Gore Vidal's The Best Man on Broadway), Diane Davis (Old Acquaintance on Broadway, Regrets Only at MTC), two-time Obie Award-winner Kathryn Grody (The Marriage of Bette & Boo, Top Girls, A Mom's Life), and Hubert Point-Du Jour (Angels in America andThe Brother/Sister Plays Off-Broadway). The Model Apartment runs September 24 - November 1 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. Opening night is Tuesday, October 15 at 7PM.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that ROCKY, will open on Broadway on March 13, 2014, beginning preview performances on February 11 at the historic Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway, New York, NY). The Chattanooga Theatre Centre celebrated and honored volunteers both onstage and behind the scenes for the 2012-2013 season at the Miss Annie Awards held Saturday, August 17, at the CTC. Musicals took top billing at the awards, with the rock musical Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson taking 10 Miss Annie awards including Outstanding Musical production and Outstanding Stagedoor production. Legally Blonde received five Miss Annie awards and Cabaret was awarded four. Legally Blonde and Cabaret tied for Audience Favorite Spotlight production. The drama A Doll's House won six awards and was named Outstanding Spotlight Production.

The rock musical BLOODY BLOODY Andrew Jackson will receive its Hampton Roads regional debut in a new immersive production at the The Generic Theater in downtown Norfolk, VA General producer Jeannette Rainey, executive director Philip Odango and artistic directors Matthew Friedman and Jennifer Murphy present the Norfolk run. Performances will begin tonight, August 23 and is currently scheduled to run through September 15.

The Old Globe presented a one-night-only Jeff Buckley Tribute Concert on August 19, and BroadwayWorld has photos of the musicians onstage below! The concert, which featured several prominent local artists covering the songs of the legendary musician, coincides with the Globe's upcoming production of The Last Goodbye, a fusion of Buckley's music with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The Jeff Buckley Tribute Concert, benefitting the Globe's student Shakespeare programs, took place in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

Theatre of NOTE presents the world premiere of SHEET CAKE SLIDING, written by Stacia Saint Owens and directed by Nicholas Newell. SHEET CAKE SLIDING, in which a nuclear family goes BOOM!, will preview Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14, and will open on Friday, September 20 at 8pm and run through Saturday, October 19 at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N Cahuenga Blvd (just north of Sunset) in Hollywood.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, has announced plans to augment its diverse programming with a varied new series of in-house productions including a new interview series, a new musicals-in-concert series (following-up on the success of the club's wildly successful High Fidelity in Concertevent), and a program for new composers. The venue will continue to present its popular Sondheim Unplugged series featuring some of Broadway's brightest stars sharing performances and behind-the-scenes anecdotes from their favorite Sondheim musicals.
