American Repertory Theater of WNY to Open 7th Season with BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, 9/19

The American Repertory Theater of WNY kicks-off the seventh season with the punk-rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson at ART/WNY's new black-box space at 16 Linwood Avenue, Buffalo NY. Celebrating the start of Buffalo's theater season, this Curtain Up! production opens September 19th and runs to October 12th, 7:30 pm.

Jay Armstrong Johnson & Talisa Friedman to Lead The Old Globe's THE LAST GOODBYE; Full Cast Announced

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for The Last Goodbye, a new musical fusing Shakespeare'sRomeo and Juliet with the incendiary songs of the legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Conceived and adapted by Michael Kimmel, the rock musical is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). Choreography is by Emmy Award nominee Sonya Tayeh ('So You Think You Can Dance'), and orchestrations, music direction and arrangements are by Kris Kukul. The Last Goodbye will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 20 - Nov. 3, 2013. Preview performances run Sept. 20 - Oct. 5. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets go on sale Sunday, Aug. 18 at 12 noon. Playwrights Horizons Announces Special Sunday Ticket Initiative for MR. BURNS

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced two special ticketing initiatives for their New York premiere production of MR. BURNS, A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY, a new play by Anne Washburn (The Internationalist), with music by Obie Award winner Michael Friedman (Saved, The Drunken City at PH; Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, the current Love's Labours Lost) and directed by Obie Award winner Steve Cosson (Gone Missing, This Beautiful City, founding Artistic Director of The Civilians).

The Old Globe today announced that San Diego musical artists The Midnight Pine and Stevie Harris have joined the lineup for the Globe's one-night-only Jeff Buckley Tribute Concert on Monday, Aug. 19 at 7:00 p.m. The concert, which features several prominent local artists covering the songs of the legendary musician, coincides with the Globe's upcoming production of The Last Goodbye, a fusion of Buckley's music with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

Producers Joey Parnes and John Arthur Pinckard announced today that Bryce Pinkham will star in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder when it premieres on Broadway this fall, opposite Tony Award-winner Jefferson Mays. Following critically acclaimed, smash-hit runs at Hartford Stage and San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder will begin performances on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre, and officially open on Sunday, November 17.
