The Old Globe presents The Last Goodbye, a new musical fusing Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet with the incendiary songs of the legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Conceived and adapted by Michael Kimmel, the rock musical is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody BloodyAndrew Jackson). Choreography is by Emmy Award nominee Sonya Tayeh ('So You Think You Can Dance'), and orchestrations, music direction and arrangements are by Kris Kukul. The Last Goodbye will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, now through Nov. 3, 2013. Arts on the Horizon, the first dedicated theatre for very young children in the United States, announces its 2013-2014 programming which will reach over 2,000 children under six years old across the metropolitan D.C. region. Inspired by theater for ages 0-6 that she had seen internationally, founder and producing artistic director, Michelle Kozlak, started Arts on the Horizon to provide Northern Virginia families with high-quality participatory theater created specifically for this young age group. Arts on the Horizon's shows are interactive, inclusive, and intimate; adhering to a completely nonverbal performance style making each piece accessible to children whose first language is not English, children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and children at any stage of language development. The season features two Arts on the Horizon original, commissioned productions including Sunny and Licorice by Miriam Gonzales, and Under the Canopy, a ground breaking theatrical piece and sensory experience for children under 2 years old, created by Matt Bassett and Tia Shearer Bassett. Additionally, audiences will be able to see two returning shows, originally commissioned and produced by Arts on the Horizon: The Young Spectaculars and the Front Yard Adventure and Drumming with Dishes: Holiday Edition, both by David Kilpatrick.

Behrman's 1927 play THE SECOND MAN, under the direction of Peccadillo's Artistic Director Dan Wackerman, this Monday, October 14 at 7 PM at Theatre at St. Clement's, 423 West 46 Street (between Ninth & Tenth Ave.) The cast will feature Greg Hildreth (Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Jordan Baker (Three Tall Women, Suddenly Last Summer, "The New Adventures of Old Christine"), Heather Lind (Jessica in The Merchant of Venice w/Al Pacino, "Boardwalk Empire," The Winter's Tale), and Aaron Serotsky (August: Osage County, Frankenstein, The Blue Flower).

A NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin, the new Broadway musical, will be featured on 'Katie' today, October 7th between 3-4:00 PM on channel 7 (check local listings). The segment will feature an interview with star Mary Bridget Davies as part of their 'One to Watch' series highlighting up and comers making notable breakthrough performances and a performance by Davies and the cast of A NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin.

A special open captioned performance of Miss Saigon has been announced for tonight at 7:30 pm. Noor Theatre's Highlight Reading Series continues this Monday at 7:30pm with an excerpt of The Shadow Spirit, by Ibn Daniyal. Written in Cairo in the 13th century, this saucy, satirical piece offers a raucous glimpse into medieval Cairo's underworld of pimps, prostitutes and dirty dealings. This is a rare opportunity to hear one of Egypt's earliest secular plays, which was written by a contemporary of Chaucer.

The Show Goes On Productions (TSGP) welcomed seven special guests for the latest theatrical concert in the ROCK TONIC Series, HERE IN THE DARK, written and performed by Ashkon Davaran, developed and directed by Shakina Nayfack on September 30th. Scroll down for photos from the peformance!

On Sunday September 29 at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal, Los Angeles theatre actor/singer Will Collyer presented Will Collyer in Concert directed by Mandy Kaplan and with musical direction by Brett Ryback. The 75-minute set featured guest appearances from Kaplan and Melissa Lyons. Collyer is an exceedingly affable 34 year-old openly gay actor who looks more like 19. Cute, drole and consistently mobile, Collyer did a retrospective of his life so far, which included his birth - very amusing segment on the music his mother was listening to in hospital when she gave birth to him - boyhood background, college days, his first kiss with another boy, local musical theatre, and a tribute to his life partner of 14 years... a mixture of banter and songs that he grew up with, some of which he actually performed in shows.
