Chance Theater presents the third show of its 15th Anniversary Season - the hilarious and irreverent emo rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson by Alex Timbers, with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman, and directed by Kari Hayter. The New York Musical Theatre Festival welcomes back Anthony Rapp to the festival as he stars in the staged reading of Shawn Cody's epic fantasy THE WATER DREAM directed by Jim True-Frost. The event will take place tonight, July 10 and the 11th at The Pershing Square Signature Center, The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre (480 West 42nd St.). Generations, A Theatre Company's 5th Season features a re-imagining of one of the American Theatre's greatest masterpieces, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim -Libretto by Hugh Wheeler - based on the play by Christopher Bond. Since it first debuted on Broadway in 1979 this garish 'musical thriller' has delighted audiences all over the world. Generations' Artistic Director George Brock promises that the show, produced in association with Rice University's Department of Visual and Dramatic Arts and opening tonight, July 5th, 2013 at Hamman Hall, will offer a different look at this timeless tale of obsession and revenge.

TriArts Sharon Playhouse, under the leadership of Alice Bemand Executive Director and John Simpkins Artistic Director, is proud to announce the opening of the theater's new 99-seat Stage 2 performance space in the Bok Gallery, with the inaugural production of John Patrick Shanley's Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Doubt, A Parable from July 11 through 14.

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) is revving up for the 8th Annual Car Show and Street Festival on Sunday, July 28, 2013, from Noon to 5:00pm, on EPA between Broad and Dickinson streets. More than 140 cars, motorcycles and trucks are expected to compete for Best of Show and other top honors. The accompanying street festival will feature live music, circus performances, street vendors, rack sales, kids' activities and the Bang! Boom! CRAFT! Show. The Public Theater and Theatre for a New Audience will present three special screenings of Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory's most beloved films, Andre Gregory: Before and After Dinner, Vanya on 42nd Street, and My Dinner With Andre, at Joe's Pub at The Public in August. These three screenings are presented as part of the current retrospective, The Wallace Shawn-Andre Gregory Project, celebrating the 40-year collaboration between these two artists.

Three world premieres, seven productions in all, are scheduled for the 10th season at the Douglas. The Civilians have announced complete casting of their world premiere of BE THE DEATH OF ME.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the British farce, "Loot," a wickedly funny send-up of larcenous, lascivious behavior among the English middle classes, written by Joe Orton and directed by David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director, playing from July 16 through August 3. The play won the coveted Evening Standard Award for Best Play in 1967.
