The Cabaret in Indianapolis has announced its 2020 lineup, including a slew of Broadway stars.

Last night was the premiere of John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch in New York City. The musical special's creator and star John Mulaney was in attendance alongside the The Sack Lunch Bunch children, guest stars David Byrne, Annaleigh Ashford, and Andre De Shields and special guests Mike Birbiglia and Nick Kroll.

The annual holiday extravaganza SPARKLE: An All-Star Holiday Concert returned to New York City on December 1 for its 8th consecutive year, once again benefiting the programs and services of The Actors Fund.

Just last night, the cast and creative team of Hadestown celebrated the show's Vinyl and CD release with a special signing event on stage at the Walter Kerr. Joining in the night full of song and trivia were Anaïs Mitchell and Rachel Chavkin in addition to cast members Reeve Carney, Tony Award winner André De Shields, Tony Award nominee Amber Gray, Tony Award nominee Eva Noblezada, Tony Award nominee Patrick Page, and more!

Six weeks of enthusiastic fundraising erupted into two extraordinary performances of lighthearted parodies, inspiring calls-to-action and exceptional dance at this year's Red Bucket Follies. The show, which was performed December 9 and 10, 2019, celebrated the 58 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies that participated in fall fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Three-time Tony Award winning Director Jack O'Brien presented Actor André De Shields, who celebrated the 50th year of his acting career in 2019 by scoring his first Tony Award, for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Hermes in Hadestown, with the 2019 Father George Moore Artistic Impact Award at Encore Ovation – A Celebration of Aging Through Art at Sardi's on November 18. O'Brien directed De Shields in The Full Monty and Impression on Broadway.

Encore Community Services has been providing care and service to the elderly of the Clinton/Times Square/Midtown communities for 43 years. Encore was founded in 1977 by Father George Moore, the pastor of St. Malachy's Church. He, along with Sisters Elizabeth Hasslet and Lillian McNamara, and members of the Broadway community (including The Shubert Organization, Sardi's and the theatrical unions) turned the old Actor's Chapel in the basement of St. Malachy's into the Encore Senior Center, where it still thrives today.

Hadestown recently celebrated 250 performances on Broadway!

It's an honor to be spoofed by Gerard Allesandrini in his “Forbidden Broadway: The Next Generation” and Mary Testa joined in the fun last night at the Triad Theater catching the show with some her fellow “Oklahoma!” company and then meeting face to face with Jenny Lee Stern who plays her as Aunt Eller in the “Oklahoma!” number.  Also at the show was Mitch Tebo from the cast of Oklahoma! who also joined in the fun.

Emmy and Tony Award–winning actor André De Shields, currently starring in Hadestown, received the Joyce Warshow Lifetime Achievement Award at the sold-out SAGE Awards & Gala held at Cipriani Wall Street on October 21.

For those of us who began making regular pilgrimages to Palsson's Supper Club back in the early 80s to see Gerard Alessandrini's smart new revue pack with parody lyrics and impersonations that skewered the gods and goddesses of Times Square, Broadway just isn't Broadway without FORBIDDEN BROADWAY around.
