Earlier this week, BroadwayWorld reported that opening night for the West End production of Back to the Future The Musical, proceeded with out its leading man, Roger Bart, who tested positive for COVID-19. Now the show has announced that performances have officially been suspended through Monday, 20 September due to illness within the cast.

Roger Bart, who plays Doc Brown, has tested positive for Covid-19, so his understudy, Mark Oxtoby, will go on as Doc Brown for the first time tonight. The official press opening for the production has been delayed.

Producer Colin Ingram and the creators of the film Back To The Future, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, have announced the full cast for the world premiere of BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical, which will open at the Manchester Opera House on 20 February 2020 for a strictly limited 12-week season, finishing on 17 May, prior to transferring to the West End.

Patrick Gabridge, Eastern New England Regional Representative for the Dramatists Guild, announces the Boston performance of Banned Together: A Censorship Cabaret, in partnership with the Dramatists Legal Defense Fund and PEN America. Banned Together will run for one performance only on Monday, Sept. 23rd from 7-8:30 pm at the Boston Public Library, Main Branch (700 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02116). Banned Together is a celebration of songs and scenes from shows that have been censored or challenged on America's stages. Award-winning Boston directors Ilyse Robbins and Weylin Symes helm the reading along with Music Director Matthew Stern, and featuring a cast of Boston-based professional actors. Free and open to the public, no advance tickets are needed.

Wheelock Family Theatre at Boston University announces Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach featuring words and music by Tony, Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe Award-Winning Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book by Timothy Allen McDonald, and based on the book by Roald Dahl. The WFT@BU production, directed by Artistic Director Emily Ranii with musical direction by Matt Stern and choreography by Juanita Pearl takes place April 12 through May 12, 2019 at 180 The Riverway, in Boston's Fenway neighborhood. Performances run Fridays at 7:30pm and Saturday/Sunday matinees at 2pm. Tickets are $20-40 and may be purchased by calling 617-353-3001 or online by visiting https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/dept/1292. Student and group discounts are available and special 1pm performances run during April school vacation week (4/16 -19). ASL and AD performances are May 5 at 2pm and May 10 at 7:30pm.
