Taylor Mac's 24-Decade History of Popular Music is coming to HBO on June 27. This comes after the concert film premieres at Tribeca Film Festival at the beginning of June.

Mrs. Barbara D. Tober hosted the dress rehearsal for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Live Arts production, Bassline Fabulous: J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Vibrations with Machine Dazzle Thursday night at the Museum’s Vanderlyn Panorama in the American Wing (which depicts the palace and gardens of Versailles). 

ALL ARTS, the broadcast and digital platform created earlier this year by New York Public Media company WNET, announced today the selection of its first Artist in Residence, veteran theater artist Taylor Mac. 

Taylor Mac will perform the bedazzling, moving and politically stirring Holiday Sauce-the delightfully irreverent work exploring Christmas as calamity-in various locations across the country in December. Holiday Sauce is produced by Pomegranate Arts (Executive Producer, Linda Brumbach; Associate Producer, Alisa Regas) and Taylor Mac's company Nature's Darlings.

Taylor Mac will perform the bedazzling, moving and politically stirring Holiday Saucea?"the delightfully irreverent work exploring Christmas as calamitya?"in various locations across the country in December. Holiday Sauce is produced by Pomegranate Arts (Executive Producer, Linda Brumbach; Associate Producer, Alisa Regas) and Taylor Mac's company Nature's Darlings.

FirstWorks and the Brown Arts Initiative at Brown University will co-present MacArthur Fellow and Tony-nominated performer and playwright Taylor Mac in an artist residency taking place September 12-15, 2019.

UCLA's Center for the Art of Performance (CAP UCLA) presents the incomparable, Taylor Mac's Holiday Sauce for a two-night engagement on Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15 at 8 p.m. at Royce Hall.

Last night Taylor Mac performed a stirring rendition of Patti Smith's iconic "People Have the Power" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, with members of Stay Human, the Jon Batiste-fronted house band, and Mac's own ensemble. Taylor Mac's “A 24-Decade History of Popular Music” is an acclaimed, bedazzled mashup of music, history, and theater that decodes the social history of the United States—all 240 years—through 246 songs that were popular throughout the country, and in its disparate communities, from 1776 to the present day. This abridged performance will feature selections spanning the 24-hour work.

Mac will perform A 24-Decade History of Popular Music as two distinct 12-hour concerts, Saturday, June 2 (1776-1896) and Saturday, June 9 (1896-present day) - Mac's longest continuous performances since the work premiered at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn in 2016.
