Arden Theatre Company opens its 16th Season of Children's Theatre with Sideways Stories from Wayside School. Based on the beloved book series by Louis Sachar, this adaptation by John Olive will be directed by Whit MacLaughlin. The production runs from December 4, 2013 through February 15, 2014 and includes weekday matinee performances for students and weekend performances for families. 11th Hour Theatre Company presents its inaugural holiday program HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA for one night only on December 8 from 7:00-10:00 PM in the Caplan Recital Hall at the University of the Arts (211 South Broad Street). Featured performers are 11th Hour Supergroup including Cara Antosca. Kat Borelli, Rachel Camp, Melissa Joy Hart, Marissa Hines, Alex Keiper, Dan Kiernan, Craig O'Brien, Michael Philip O'Brien, Steve Pacek, Samantha Joy Pearlman, and Sigmund Washington. Also performing will be members of the cast from 11th Hour's Spring Mainstage production of Altar Boyz: Brendan Dalton, Kevin, Duffin, Adam Hoyak and Billy Kametz, as well as a special Philly Star Face-Off between Jeff Coon, Mary Martello and Jennie Eisenhower, and solo performances by Corey Regensberg and Danielle Lovier's group Olive Juice.

Actor, musician and songwriter Jeremiah Downes will bring Highways and Daydreams: The Songs of Jeremiah Downes to New York City this October 14th at The Duplex. Sarah Bolt (Wicked, Sister Act), Amanda Brizzi, Dan Callahan, Larry Hamilton (MADAME: The Musical), Joy Mayweather and Janet Rowley will lend their talents to Downes' words and music. A revue, Highways and Daydreams features songs written over the last decade, as well as material from Downes' other works in progress, Radio Flyer and Seven. Highways and Daydreams had its premiere in 2011 at the Martin and Biello Studio in Philadelphia with Janet Rowley, Alex Keiper and under the musical direction of Christopher Ertelt.
