11th Hour Theatre Presents Andrew Lippa's WILD PARTY, Now thru 3/11

By:

11th Hour Theatre Company continues its NEXT STEP concert series with Andrew Lippa's Wild Party, based on the poem by Joseph Moncure March and book, lyrics and award-winning music by Andrew Lippa, tonight, March 9-11 at Christ Church Neighborhood House (20 N. American St.). Directed by Megan Nicole O'Brien, this "party to end all parties" stars Michael Philip O'Brien, Alex Keiper, Melissa Joy Hart and Melissa Bird.

Performances are tonight, March 9 at 8 PM; Sunday, March 10 at 3 PM; and Monday, March 11 at 7 PM. Tickets are $25 for general admission, $15 for students and industry, and are available at www.11thhourtheatrecompany.org or by calling 267-987-9865.

This raucous story welcomes audiences to join the festivities as star-crossed lovers Queenie, an aging chorus girl, and her boyfriend Burrs, a washed up vaudeville clown, plan a reckless evening. They invite their friends from downtown, uptown and underground for a night of gin, sin, and endless possibilities. Award-winning music by Andrew Lippa provides a decadent and exhilarating backdrop for this tale of passion gone awry.

"With sold-out weekends of our past two NEXT STEP musical readings, we are so pleased with the success that confirms the demand for challenging and edgy new work," said 11th Hour Theatre Company's Producing Artistic Director Michael Philip O'Brien.

The NEXT STEP concert series completes its run with Into The Woods by Stephen Sondheim on April 13-14 at the Skybox at the Adrienne (2030 Sansom St.).

11th Hour Theatre Company is a dynamic, boutique company committed to producing high quality musical theatre that favors intimate, story-driven musicals over flashy, budget-busting spectacles. Now in its eighth season, the company has presented eight Philadelphia premieres and has received thirty-one Barrymore nominations and seven awards, including two consecutive awards for "Outstanding Ensemble in a Musical" (The Bomb-itty of Errors, The World Goes 'Round) and several individual artist awards.
