Theatre Philadelphia is thrilled to announce the nominees for the 2014 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre, including over 140 total nominations spanning 26 categories. The all-new Barrymore Awards Ceremony will be held Monday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. at The Merriam Theater at 250 S. Broad Street, immediately followed by an After-Party in the Commonwealth Plaza at The Kimmel Center.

Arden Theatre Company begins its 27th season of great stories with La Bete by David Hirson, under the direction of Emmanuelle Delpech. The production appears on the Arden's F. Otto Haas Stage from September 11 through October 12, 2014.

Renowned in the region for their productions of gay-themed works, Mauckingbird Theatre Company closes their 2014 season with two weeks of special events celebrating classic LGBT works and a Mauckingbird-style original, August 29 - September 7 in the Randall Theater on the campus of Temple University.

PlayPenn, Philadelphia's nationally recognized professional new play development organization, announces the directors, dramaturgs, actors and designers that will participate in its 10th annual New Play Development Conference. Held from July 6 - July 27 at the Adrienne Theater (2030 Sansom Street) in Philadelphia, the Conference includes three weeks of intensive work along with staged readings open to the public of six new plays.

The Arden Theatre closes the 2013/14 season with a Michael Hollinger play, INCORRUPTIBLE. This play is a dark comedy, which is set in the dark ages, about 1250 A.D. According to the Arden Theatre Hollinger asks the burning question in this play, "What happens when faith alone can't pay the bills?" INCORRUPTIBLE has a balance of verbal and physical comedy as well as asks the audience to reflect on blind faith.

InterAct Theatre Company brings to the stage the world premiere production of A. Zell Williams' Down Past Passyunk, inspired by the controversy stirred up by Philadelphia landmark Geno's Steaks. Down Past Passyunk runs from April 4 - 27, 2014 with previews from April 4 - 6. Press opening is April 9 at 7p.m. InterAct Theatre Company is located at 2030 Sansom Street. Performances will be held Tuesday - Sunday. 11th Hour Theatre Company continues its Next Step Concert Series with LIZZIE this weekend, November 23-25 at the Caplan Studio Theatre at the University of the Arts (211 South Broad Street).

Arden Theatre Company opens its 16th Season of Children's Theatre with Sideways Stories from Wayside School. Based on the beloved book series by Louis Sachar, this adaptation by John Olive will be directed by Whit MacLaughlin. The production runs from December 4, 2013 through February 15, 2014 and includes weekday matinee performances for students and weekend performances for families. Best enjoyed by families with children ages 5 and older, Sideways Stories from the Wayside School runs on the Arden's F. Otto Haas Stage at 40 N. 2nd Street in the heart of Old City, Philadelphia.

11th Hour Theatre Company presents its inaugural holiday program HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA for one night only on December 8 from 7:00-10:00 PM in the Caplan Recital Hall at the University of the Arts (211 South Broad Street). Featured performers are 11th Hour Supergroup including Cara Antosca. Kat Borelli, Rachel Camp, Melissa Joy Hart, Marissa Hines, Alex Keiper, Dan Kiernan, Craig O'Brien, Michael Philip O'Brien, Steve Pacek, Samantha Joy Pearlman, and Sigmund Washington. Also performing will be members of the cast from 11th Hour's Spring Mainstage production of Altar Boyz: Brendan Dalton, Kevin, Duffin, Adam Hoyak and Billy Kametz, as well as a special Philly Star Face-Off between Jeff Coon, Mary Martello and Jennie Eisenhower, and solo performances by Corey Regensberg and Danielle Lovier's group Olive Juice.

Actor, musician and songwriter Jeremiah Downes will bring Highways and Daydreams: The Songs of Jeremiah Downes to New York City this October 14th at The Duplex. Sarah Bolt (Wicked, Sister Act), Amanda Brizzi, Dan Callahan, Larry Hamilton (MADAME: The Musical), Joy Mayweather and Janet Rowley will lend their talents to Downes' words and music. A revue, Highways and Daydreams features songs written over the last decade, as well as material from Downes' other works in progress, Radio Flyer and Seven. Highways and Daydreams had its premiere in 2011 at the Martin and Biello Studio in Philadelphia with Janet Rowley, Alex Keiper and under the musical direction of Christopher Ertelt.

Sold out for the past seven years, 11th Hour Theatre Company's Philly Rocks has become one of the can't miss events of the Philadelphia theater season. This exhilarating annual rock concert features top Philadelphia performers rocking out to some of the best songs ever written. This version written by Charles Way and directed by Whit MacLaughlin will run from tonight, November 28, 2012 through January 27, 2013 on the Arden's F. Otto Haas Stage at 40 N. 2nd Street. Arden Children's Theatre is best enjoyed by families with children ages 5 and older.
