West End shows will find themselves in good company later this month. Company returns to the London stage in a reworked version by Marianne Elliott, set in the modern day and featuring gender swaps of characters.

The upcoming production of Company in the West End features non-traditional casting in terms of gender. The protagonist, usually Bobby, a man afraid of marriage, is now Bobbie, a woman. Big news came from the Company Twitter when they revealed that the already innovative casting will feature the musical's first same-sex couple. Jonathan Bailey takes on the somewhat newly created role of Jamie (formerly Amy), the character blessed (or cursed) with the unforgettable song 'Not Getting Married Today.' Alex Gaumond will play his soon-to-be husband Paul.

Based on Charles Dickens' classic novella, the story we all know and love is brought to life with a thrilling score. As previously announced, Anne Archer (Fatal Attraction; Patriot Games; Clear and Present Danger) will return to the UK to star as 'Jane Fonda', having first developed the role at the Edinburgh Festival in 2014. Archer was last seen on the London stage making her West End debut as 'Mrs Robinson' in The Graduate at the Gielgud Theatre in 2001, to critical acclaim.
