Chance Theater Announces 2020 Resident Playwright And OTR New Works Schedule

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is delighted to announce its OTR New Works lineup for 2020. We will be presenting two staged readings from past and president Resident Playwrights, as well as a LAB Workshop production, and our first commissioned play, which is being written by our first Resident Playwright, Adam Szymkowicz. All performances will take place at the Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

'Clown Bar' is a dive worth visiting.This pulp fiction novel stained with grease paint is a detective tale set on the mean streets of the clown underworld. Happy (Jonathan Sweatt ) is an ex-clown headliner turned detective. He returns to his old stomping grounds on a vengeance to flush out the clown who killed his brother Timmy (Zach Tarwater) It's comical cotton candy chaos, and Ringling Bros' raunchy.

Life, as we know it, happens all around us in an amazing cavalcade of events that at once might seem inconsequential yet their importance becomes evident with time and experience. That's the message of Kodachrome, Adam Szymkowicz's lovely and elegiac play now onstage at the Actors Bridge Studio through July 28, in a warmly sentimental and sweet, yet unmistakably moving and impactful, production under the direction of Rachel Agee, who makes her professional directorial debut in the process.

What do you do when some Bozo commits murder? You go see the newest show being offered by Padgett Productions, CLOWN BAR, at Immersive KC (formerly Prohibition Hall) in Kansas City. The hilarious campy comedy written by Adam Szymkowicz runs Friday and Saturday nights through July 20. This 65-minute production is riddled with sidesplitting humor, musical numbers, and hilarious choreography.

Dramatists Guild Foundation Brings Traveling Masters to Rhode Island, Nevada, and New Hampshire

The Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) has announced that it will be bringing its Traveling Masters program to Rhode Island, Nevada, and New Hampshire for the very first time over the course of this month. The Traveling Masters is a nationwide education program providing master classes and events on the craft of writing. Rising Phoenix Repertory Releases Second Issue of Theatre Literary Magazine, Caffe Cino

Rising Phoenix Repertory is pleased to announce the publication of the second issue of its theater literary magazine Caffe Cino, edited by Steve McMahon and Daniel Talbott.
