Moviegoers everywhere will experience a true #TakeMeBackTuesday with the magic of the original STEP UP movie returning to the big screen for one night, kicking off a new generation of passions, obsessions and rivalries tied to the highly anticipated premiere of the new YouTube Red Original series, Step Up: High Water.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents an encore of choreographer Jodi Melnick's sold-out 2016 commission, NEW BODIES. This Works & Process commissioned work weaves together dance, spoken text, and moderated discussion with live music, featuring New York City Ballet dancers Jared Angle, Sara Mearns, and Taylor Stanley in a role originated by Gretchen Smith, with harpsichord by composer Gy rgy Ligeti, violin by composer Heinrich Biber, and commissioned music by Robert Boston.Also, Melnick, who enjoyed a performance career with Twyla Tharp (among many others), will perform One of Sixty-Five Thousand Gestures, a solo work created in collaboration with the late Trisha Brown.

Last night, The Trevor Project hosted its 2017 TrevorLIVE Los Angeles gala at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif., where it honored fashion designer, award-winning screenwriter, producer, and film director Tom Ford with the Hero Award, and Tony Award winning actress, singer and author Kristin Chenoweth with the Icon Award. The evening kicked off with special opening remarks from Lisa Kudrow and Kristin Davis, and featured performances by Grammy-nominated band Garbage, Broadway legend Shoshana Bean, and Neon Trees. Outfest, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBT stories on the screen, announced today that it will honor the Emmy , Grammy , Oscar , and Tony award winner Rita Moreno (West Side Story, One Day at a Time ) at the 2017 Legacy Awards on Sunday, October 22nd.

The Matthew Bourne / New Adventures production of 'The Red Shoes,' presented by Center Theatre Group and Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, is making its American premiere now through October 1, 2017 in Los Angeles. Summer wouldn't be the same in Los Angeles without the Hollywood Bowl's annual offering of a star-studded Broadway musical; and this year will be no different when the mega-hit Mamma Mia! getting ready to ignite on one of the world's most iconic stages July 28 - 30.  BroadwayWorld TV's own Michael Sterling dropped in at rehearsals earlier this week to get a sneak peek at rehearsals and to speak with members of the cast.  Featured in Mamma Mia! are Corbin Bleu as Sky, Dove Cameron as Sophie, Jaime Camil as Sam, Tisha-Campbell-Martin as Tanya, Lea DeLaria as Rosie, Hamish Linklater as Harry, Jennifer Nettles as Donna, and Steven Weber as Bill.

The Hollywood Bowl's production of Mamma Mia! begins tonight, July 28, at 8 PM and continues Saturday, July 29, at 8 PM and Sunday, July 30, at 7:30 PM.

Dizzy Feet Foundation (DFF), co-founded in 2010 by Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman, will again host their annual National Dance Day (NDD) at The Music Center in Los Angeles and The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. this Saturday July 29, 2017. BroadwayWorld and I had the chance to quiz Adam on the importance of dance for him, and for countless others.

This year, the Bowl's annual staged musical visits the 2001 international phenomenon about a young woman's plot to uncover the identity of her father among three of her mother's former loves, all of whom are invited to her wedding on a Greek island. But which man turns out to be her father and walks her down the aisle? Filled with ABBA's timeless songs, including 'Dancing Queen' and 'Voulez Vous,' get ready to have the time of your life July 28-29-30 seeing MAMMA MIA! at the Hollywood Bowl, directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall and conducted by David Holcenberg. Kathleen Marshall is one of Broadway's most celebrated artists. Honored numerous times for her work on stage and screen, she has won three Tony Awards (with six more nominations) and two Drama Desk Awards (four additional nominations). Marshall has also been nominated for both an Olivier and an Emmy. The MAMA MIA! production at the Hollywood Bowl marks her Los Angeles debut as a director/choreographer, and I recently was fortunate to speak with her, and stars Corbin Bleu and Lea DeLaria, about their excitement being involved in the musical extravaganza.

Six performances will be staged at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, 416 West 42nd Street, New York City from July 19-23, 2017.
