Long Beach Opera Announces Four Upcoming 2022 Productions

Long Beach Opera has programmed four upcoming performances and events – including two new productions as originally announced -- Giustino by G.F. Handel at the sculpture garden and within the galleries at Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) directed by Artistic Director James Darrah and conducted by Music Director Christopher Rountree, with new adaptations and arrangements by composer Shelley Washington on May 21, 22, and 28; followed by The Central Park Five by Anthony Davis & Richard Wesley conducted by Anthony Parnther at Jordan Auditorium in Long Beach on June 18, 19 and 25.
Complete Cast Announced for MCC Theater's World Premiere of SOFT

MCC Theater has announced the complete casting for the World Premiere production of soft by Donja R. Love (one in two). Directed by Whitney White (On Sugarland), soft will begin previews on Thursday May 12, 2022 in the Susan & Ronald Frankel Theater at The Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space (511 W 52nd Street New York, NY 10019).

Nominations for the 37th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were announced today by theatre veterans Lilli Cooper and Lea DeLaria, stars of Broadway’s POTUS. With COVID safety in mind, rather than having one host and multiple presenters, this year the Awards will be handed out by a few Host/Presenter pairs on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at NYU Skirball beginning at 7:00pm EST. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League and Lucille Lortel Theatre, with additional support provided by TDF.

Get a first look at photos from Lincoln Center Theater's production of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic The Skin of Our Teeth, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). The production, which will coincide with the 125th anniversary of Mr. Wilder's birth, will also mark the Beaumont and Broadway debuts of LCT Resident Director Lileana Blain-Cruz and will open on Monday, April 25th.

New York Theatre Workshop announced today a change to the performance schedule for On Sugarland. Previews, which were set to begin on Wednesday February 2, 2022, will now start on Thursday February 3 to allow the team more time for technical rehearsals.
