Composer and lyricist Darren Clark has just launched a new website that acts like a hub for new musical theatre with roots in the UK.

MPTheatricals, Queerly Productions, ALPMusicals, Musical Theatre Network & Mercury Musicals Developments present MTPRIDE: an intersectional online musical theatre festival. The series celebrates Pride past, present and future through performances from Musical Theatre stars who are also members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Before COVID-19, Adam Lenson was producing SIGNAL, a quarterly concert series in association with H Club London that showcased the best new artist-driven musical theatre. But when forced to cancel their March event, he decided to take the concert online. Fortunately this presented the opportunity to showcase writers from all over the world.

This fourth edition of the hit online series features a series of international award-winning composers performing new musical theatre live from their living rooms into yours.

Today, Mercury Musical Developments and Musical Theatre Network, in partnership with Royal & Derngate Northampton, are delighted to announce the line-up for their upcoming BEAM2020 showcase. BEAM2020 is the UK's leading showcase for new British musical theatre writing and will take place on Thursday 26th March and Friday 27th March 2020 at Royal & Derngate, Northampton.

Caissie Levy was last seen in London in 2012 when she originated the role of Molly in the West End production of Ghost at the Piccadilly Theatre, and went on to perform a two-night residency at the Hippodrome in 2013. She's since originated the role of Elsa in the Broadway production of Frozen. On 15 September, she is back in the UK for one night only, performing at Cadogan Hall as part of Club 11 London's mission to bring Broadway to our capital.

Subverting some of the best-loved pieces of classical music, Derrière on a G String is a raucous new comedy dance sensation from choreographer Alfred Taylor-Gaunt (the award-winning The Limit, Vault Festival 2019; Stand and Deliver!, Kings Head Theatre), vocalising life's first world problems through a hilariously imaginative series of dance and physical theatre sketches.

The forthcoming UK premiere of Falsettos was met with criticism this week when a group of Jewish actors and theatremakers spoke out over a lack of Jewish representation in the show's casting.

Brought up in a remote, poverty-stricken town in Yorkshire, without money or opportunity, they fought ill health, unrequited love and family feuds to write some of the most celebrated literature including Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights.

The new production of Kander and Ebb's THE RINK is playing at Southwark Playhouse for a limited season from 25 May to 23 June 2018. The production stars Caroline O'Connor as Anna and Gemma Sutton as Angel, and features Stewart Clarke, Ross Dawes, Michael Lin, Elander Moore, Ben Redfern and Jason Winter as Dino, Lino, Lucky, Benny, Lenny and Tony respectively.

The Rink revives a show received with lacklustre reviews and box office in the 80s and, through two brilliant central performances and a showstopper setpiece, make it a hit.
