Talented students from 26 Tennessee high schools will seize the opportunity to improve their skills - and perhaps to be recognized for their theatrical and musical talent - as part of the fifth annual Nashville High School Musical Theater Awards, aka The Spotlight Awards.

The Miles Electric Band, a progressive, All-Star ensemble of Miles Davis alumni who are revising the framework for modern jazz improvisation, will perform at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) on Thursday, March 1 at 8:00pm. The avant-garde collective revisits repertoire from Davis' electric period (1968 - 1975) in paying homage to The Chief. The band represents two generations of players: Davis' contemporaries and the next generation.

The ABBA jukebox musical follows Sophie, a young woman determined to have her father walk her down the aisle, despite not knowing who he is. This year's Pre-Grammys gala, hosted by Clive Davis and the Recording Academy, will get a taste of Broadway. According to Variety, Davis revealed that the event will include a segment to honor Broadway, with performances from Tony winners Leslie Odom Jr and Ben Platt.
In time for the 2018 National Association of Music Merchant (NAMM) 2018 tradeshow in Anaheim, singer songwriter Gussie Miller has released his debut album 'Forever Plan' on CD. The album had previously been available on streaming services only, earning the distinction of being one of the first 'digital only CDs' to appear on the Grammy ballot in the history of The Recording Academy. In conjunction with the release of the CD, Miller who has collaborated with artists including Cher, Seal, Gino Vannelli, Lavern Baker, Cher, Marcus Miller, Keb' Mo', Cleto Escobedo, Jay Gore and Mindi Abair is preparing to release his second album's single 'Sunshine,' for 2019 Grammy consideration.
